DIY Wind Speed Indicator

They can get a little expensive to buy so I thought I'd try to make one.

This is what I have so far.

I'll probably cut the mounting board down to a smaller size and shape it.

Add some lines to show different crosswind speeds.

Either paint it or clear urethane or...?

We'll see how it turns out

Thinking I'll mount it to a tree about 50 yards out so I can take a peek at it thru my scope b4 I fire a shot.

How will it work? I can see it telling wind direction but where do you get the speed?

Look at a few of the BR sights and the instruction of building wind flags. Aluminum arrows work well and surveyors tape(cheap).

Nice build! If you draw lines for cross wind speeds, how do you plan on "calibrating" it? (Just curious in case I decide to build something similar.)

How will I calibrate it? I have no idea LoL

Actually I'll put some lines at 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 o'clock and memorize how much each "time" effects my POI.

7 o'clock = hold 1 mil to the left etc.

I will keep you posted.
