Looking at my sights it seems like it might be possible to drill the front sight in place for the fiber optic, and grind into the hole a little to admit light from above. Same looks possible for the rear sight. Since that area is so thin the F.O.'s should be short enough in length to light up on their own I hope. I'm still just thinking about this..... so if anyone has some insight into this kind of process, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I have a drill press and all of the tools needed. BUT I don't do this sort of thing all the time and am not a machinist. so..........
