I got my new FX Impact MK2 PP with 700 mm barrel in 25

Didn't started tuning yet, I will have to watch some videos first, I would also need some burn-in time as well. Usually how many pellets or refills?

My next step will be sigting in my 1-40x50 SFP scope for 100-200 meter ranges.

I was looking into bench rests and vises in some stores, all look plastic or just way too clunky metal to me....

Relate or not, I am a mechanical design engineer (and I am 60yo) and I just never trusted any "pro technician" to setup my bows and crossbows, or even touch my car (I am far from perfect :) I let the cooking to my wife at a very first date to take care of the kitchen, and I ended up happily married for over 33 years ;) ).

Most likely I will build a bench-sight in fixture myself, I have an idea but always open for more views. Anybody can share some ideas for front/rear XYZ offsets?

Would you not consider a 3-legged Caldwell front rest with leather matching rear bag? It sounds like you prefer machine guided precision adjustability. If I ever considered changing from Caldwell, I would buy a front rest that is controlled by a single "Joystick" of some kind. It seems users really like the joystick ease of use. What type of design do ya have in mind if you decide to build your own?

I am talking a sighting in rest, lets picture it as a wise clamped to a bigger concrete block :)

To secure/clamp the gun and without a human torque fine tune the scope for a specific distance with testing/filtering out through a number of pellet weights.

Every gun and every barrel (and finally every scope) prefers a specific pellet or slug, right? Now later on for bench rest shooting can we reuse that fixture? depend of a design.
