Discovery Optics HD 3-18X50 FFP IR looking for info.

Edgun West is now carrying a few new scopes from a company called Discovery Optics. I was wondering if anyone has had any exposure to this scope brand. In my past dealings with Edgun west The owner Brian has always been particular with the brands he carries so I’m now waiting for his video he said would be out soon to find out more about discovery optics. The Discovery he 3-18x50 that I’m interested in Goes for $399 it’s FFP in a 34mm tube, here is the link

i couldn’t find out much about this scope on YouTube but in the manufacturer videos they seem to stress its toughness. The scope comes with rings which is a plus as 34mm can be hard to find.

Brian, you can buy these Discovery Optics scopes from Aliexpress.
The one you linked to can be bought here for $365 with free shipping from China, I believe.
You can search for "discovery optics" in Aliexpress and you'll find a ton of different options and reticle types to choose from, both FFP and SFP.

A semi-review of one of these scopes can be found here:

It's a bummer 4-24x50 scope has the reticle is in Mil and Turrets are in MOA. I guess it's no different than Hawke has been selling forever. My sidewinder is like that. The 3-18x50 has Mil reticle and Mil turrets. The Discovery reticle is similar to the Athlon Argos. The Discovery has an off setting between each illumination step, which is great. I wish the Sidewinder and Argos had this.

Here's the 4-24x50 FFP on aliexpress. $390.99 + free S&H. This is tempting.

Package
1. DISCOVERY HD 4-24X50SFIR *1pcs
2. Lens Cover *1pair
3. Sunshade *1pcs
4. A free pair of scope mount(Please tell me the type you want)

EDIT: OK, now I'm not sure about the turrets as Aliexpress says they're in MOA in one section and Mil in another. I love it.

I did see the ones on Ali express and there cost was about the same as what Edgun West is charging and i would feel safer in making the purchase from someone who I can easily speak to if a problem arises. The only thing I’m not sure about with the Discovery model I’m interested in is their use of the HD description. Does it mean the glass I’d HD or something else I couldn’t find a clear explanation hopefully Brian will answer my questions in his video. I’ve always wanted to get a 34mm Scope as Internally there is enough room to allow a maximum adjustment range (50 mil in elevation and wind) Hopefully someone who already has the 3-18 will get into this dialog. What would even be better if Joewaynerhea had one to do his informative test.

Just purchased one through EdG. Alixpress was a disaster to get any info on VAT and import tax info. just figured it all cost the same in the wash and EdG could enjoy a new customer. Thanx to Mr. Joe W. Rhea (AKA Cyclops) for all those fun filled Vids. I hope to have this mounted soon. i had to post on here for there's not a lot of vendors on this side of the pond. $444.53 out the door in Calif.
Thankyou! Men And Women of our Armed Forces on Memorial Day.

I have one, I got it just 2 weeks ago, very nice scope for the money, I plan on doing a comparison review with other 3 scopes but I'm waiting to the Discovery ED model to arrive,I think it's due to next week.
The only thing that I can say as early impressions is that the 34mm mounts that comes with it are not very good, they'll do the job but I wouldn't trust to hold the scope in place if you bump the rifle or something like that.
Maybe I'll buy the UTG POI mounts for it.

I was wondering about the mounts also when i read they were included. no worries there is always somethn' else to purchase.
i purchased this model first to experience this optic maker's product and "SEE" for myself, second i just like having extra scopes for all occasions and mishaps.
i got taken in by their cross-cut worm drive style turret knobs and being my first FFP, and third the videos they show punishing them.

I have one of these on the way ..Should be here next week ..with any luck I'll have video done in bout 2 weeks ..Very excited to check it out and see how much better it is than the ED scope I reviewed a while back .

Hi Joe, which one are going to review the HD model with 34mm tube or the ED model with 30mm?, I looked at your channel and there's no Discovery ED review, correct me if I'm wrong and share the link please.

All the best
