Spincity --- I just bought my first discovery scope a while back and was so surprised by the build quality, clarity and light gathering ability, reticle, tracking, turrets, etc... I really was astonished at the quality that goes into these scopes for the price. When you pick one up, you'll notice the heft and build quality immediately. They are a little on the heavy side but most quality optics are. I purchased one of the 4-20x50 scopes with a 30mm tube from the HD line, like I just said, it was the most pleasantly surprised I've been by a scope in a long time and I have purchased or used many expensive, quality scopes over the years. I'm not proud of it, but in the past I was kind of a scope snob. That was before I was married with kids and threw money around like a dumb ass bachelor with lots of guns that needed(not really) new expensive scopes. I owned Vortex, Kahles, Sworovski, Steiner, Burris, Weaver, Leupold, Doctor, Meopta, etc... Even after using these quality optics, the glass, reticle and tracking on the Discovery scope I bought really blew me away, and for $270!!! The ED line you are looking at is a couple of steps up from the scope I bought. If the price is any indication of what you're going to get, I think it will blow your socks off. If you buy one, please let us know what you think! I for one really would like to know.
I just purchased a MKII myself. Do you have yours yet? I'm assuming we ordered them from the same place that shipped a whole bunch of them on Friday. Mine is supposed to arrive on Tuesday. What one did you buy? I got the 25 caliber in silver with the 700mm barrel. I had been looking at other guns, namely RAW and the A.T. Uragan. For me it came down to what you get for the money. The FX Impact is a tried and true platform that many, many people use and love, it's been upgraded with a 28 shot magazine, a larger plenum, better gauges and a 580cc bottle($75 upgrade), all for the same price, except for the bottle upgrade! That's just awesome! I'm having my buddy Neil Clague make me an oversized, shroud-moderator combo out of either brushed aluminum or titanium to match the silver in the gun. My boys and I like to pimp out our guns to make them individualized. The oversized silver shroud/moderator and a silver, billet aluminum, skeletonized grip will do that for me. I'm really excited and I bet you are too. If you have it already, I'd love to see a couple of pictures and hear what you think so far. I'm thinking we both bought them from UA and they were both shipped on Friday though. Have a great afternoon and good luck with your scope decision. I think you'll be extremely happy with the Discovery ED scope. I can't even express how positively surprised I was with my Discovery scope.
