digital pressure gauges - that look's like an expensive 9 characters

I was just surfing the internet for some digital pressure gauges, mainly to see what's out there and found that some new brands arrived. Also I saw that there are some serious price differences between the exact same products:

Topgun airguns digital pressure gauge

Huma air digital pressure gauge

It looks like engraving is expensive nowadays 😂

Haven't tested these pressure gauges myself but it seems like they are fairly accurate from what I've heard and seen (advertised as 1%). Just use this info to your advantage if you were interested in these gauges ;)

Do you have a link to the chinese manufacturer? My google skills isnt enough apparently.

Edit:

Some googlefuh later and the manufacturer seems to be Zhengfu (Xiamen) Precision Instruments Co., Ltd

Accuracy 1% of the full scale which is 300 bar, so +/- 3bar then.

For me, the most important thing is the repeatability. Even if it is a couple of bar off, as long as it repeatably shows the same number for a given pressure I am able to return to a previous pressure setting. This I find a bit hard with the small analog gauges. Pressure reading being dependant on exact viewing angle and so on.

Anyone uses these for $40? 250bar max...wonder if safe at that pressure? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001723066932.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.0.0.60e12d9aDVWGr8&gps-id=pcDetailCartBuyAlsoBuy&scm=1007.33682.207861.0&scm_id=1007.33682.207861.0&scm-url=1007.33682.207861.0&pvid=c881510b-840d-4626-b619-44e80db8016b&_t=gps-id:pcDetailCartBuyAlsoBuy,scm-url:1007.33682.207861.0,pvid:c881510b-840d-4626-b619-44e80db8016b,tpp_buckets:668%230%23131923%2332_668%23888%233325%2317_23682%230%23207861%2318_23682%235100%2323426%237_668%232846%238107%231934_668%235811%2327184%2364_668%232717%237564%23672__668%235154%2324274%23490

Keep in mind that a shop has to bare with all the waranty work etc. Don't get me wrong, I think shops should make money, which is their fundamental target basically, but there is a difference in making money and asking really high prices. I think at Huma the price is decent, if you want to take the hassle of ordering it yourself that's also fine (although it is not really a hassle if the product works, just when it's broken and has to go back to china or whatever way they solve it)

bigHUN, You are almost correct. BSP (British Standard Pipe) come in two flavors straight (Parallel) and tapered. So using the term of BSP is insufficient. You should be using BSPP or BSPT. BSPP requires a gasket either at the base or as a washer at the top before a flange to seal. All tapered pipe threads whether NPT of BSPT seal on the threads and require a thread sealant.

On the subject of digital gauges being more accurate, there is no reason they should be. They are still mechanical. Lastly, gauge accuracy is not really important. It is relative. If you you want to have confidence in their accuracy you ultimately have to compare it to a certified standard which few of us have.In use, a needle display is much better as they do not require a battery and they are instantly intuitive.Personally, I see no advantage to digital gauges.

Maybe digital gauges themselves aren't more accurate "mechanically", but a person using them can be more accurate by using them. Using the same size gauge face you can get your measurement in a such smaller unit. This little 1" digital gauge reads to 1/10 bar. How big a face, or how thin of a needle would you have to have for an analog gauge to be able to read in 1/10's? Digital settings are much more repeatable because of the unit size. Now if you had a 6" analog gauge with a super fine needle and a scale easily reading 1/2 bar, and then you compare it to a digital gauge that only reads every 5 bar, which is going to be more accurate to use?

How old are you? Old enough to remember dial tuning radios? How many times would you be able to tune in a station with the radio off and be tuned in when you turn it on with an analog tuner? Radio station frequencies are in tenth's (here in US). MUCH easier to tune in with a digital tuner.

While shopping this morning I thought of a real good analogy as to why a person can be more accurate with a digital gauge (smaller measurable value) vs an analog gauge. Think of it like paint in 1 gal cans vs 5 gallon pails. Of course the accuracy of the manufacture to put 1 gal and 5 gallons in each would have to be taken into consideration, which would go to which gauge is more accurate. But as for usage, if someone wanted 5 gal or 10 gal or 15 gals of paint each of the methods would be just as accurate. But now say someone wanted 7 gals, or 8 gallons or 248 gallons, which unit would be more accurate? Of course the smaller one. With the 5 gallon buckets you would have to estimate to get each of the mentioned amounts.
