Results DIFTA Match Report Saturday July 5 2025

Five shooters celebrated our Independence Day weekend match at DIFTA. Temperatures started in the mid 70s and climbed to the mid 80s by the match end with high but not overly oppressive humidity. The day was calm with essentially no wind; intermittent sunshine; and a full tree canopy that made some of the darker targets and kill zones hard to see. We had no target malfunctions and the course was fun to shoot if challenging.

The average course difficulty was 29.35, with three 3/8” and one ½” kill zones, and seven targets at > 40 yards. Of note the ½” target was on the kneeling lane at 12 yards and fell only 3 times. Overall, the theme for the day was ‘missed opportunities’ with 14 scores of 5/ keeping clear lanes frustratingly out of reach.

Greg White in Hunter Division took the match high score of 48/60 closely followed by Tinh Nguyen in open division who scored 47/60. Unusually, 4/5 shooters competed in Open Division.

Thanks to Paolo and Scott Broom for setting up the match, and as always, many thanks to those who travel long distances to compete and keep our sport alive, and to everyone who stayed behind to bring up the targets.

Mark Mayer acted as match Director. The next match at DIFTA will be held on Saturday August 2nd.
