Different types of Pellets

I’m new to the airgun game. Are there different types of .25 caliber pellets? The only kind I’ve been able to find are the rounded head or “dome style”. I’m just curious if they have a pointier or more sharpened head or something more thick like a slug.
Oh yes, my choices are as follows
Jsb king domes
Jsb hades
Predator polymags (also a jsb item)
Beeman crow magnums
Jsb heavy kings

There's many many more, id recommend going to your preferred vendors website and poke around looking at what rhey offer in your caliber

Slugs is a whole different power level and range venture so I would steer clear of those if you don't need to shoot past 110 yards too often.

FWIW...my FX .25 Caliber Wildcat shoots the JSB 25.39 gr Diablo pellets the best (extremely accurate). I have over 7,000 pellets through it (almost all hunting), and have never changed. Does a number on Sage Rats (GS's). I've made shots to over a 100 yds numerous times with that set-up. I recall years ago AOA told me I could try a sample pack of pellets...but I'd end back up at that pellet. He was right!!

There is a chart somewhere that lists the different pellets and their ballistic coefficients

The rounded head or "dome style" pellet is self-stabilizing, similar to a badminton birdie and pellet guns are designed around this. Slugs, on the other hand, utilize spin and speed for accuracy, just like a football, so slug guns are designed accordingly. Pellet design that moves away from the rounded head skirted one can impact self-stabilization. WM

Depending on what rifle you have, you may be able to shoot some slugs. Something with a cupped or dished base. Aea master slugs are now available in .25 in two weights, or fx hybrids are a lightweight slug
