Im new here! I've had a marauder .22 with the LW barrel for about a year, it has been awesome! I recently got a gauntlet sl30 it is super HEAVY. So like anyone would do, I started researching cf bottles! While dipping my toe into that pool I came across marauder bottle conversions.... I'm in love. Is there a bottle "drop block" currently available for a marauder? Or one that can be modified to fit a marauder?

So I know im BRAND NEW HERE, so im gonna assume you are this forum's "grumpy know it all" but... now hear me out on this, you just not reply if you don't have an answer to the question and you can save us both time. Then again, it's probably easier to just post an antagonistic screen shot of an acronym instead of just moving on. What do I know though... I am new...

Some folks, instead of a drop block, have added a bottle or second reservoir by using a connection to the gauge block gauge hole.
You will note there is an attitude that anything Marauder is old fashioned and out of style. I do not share this thinking but yes, you missed the heydays of M-Rod modding.
Not bottle guns but my M-Rods are modded and I like them, my efforts have been power and weight and balance for hunting, not bench shooting.

That is quite the collection! I agree they are old not obsolete! I've seen the guage set ups, they aren't quite the esthetic I am looking for. You might try looking for a drop block on eBay. One thing to keep in mind- if you carry and walk a lot a bottle gun is difficult to use with a sling. It's possible to tune your Marauder for a higher shot count, lots of ways to do that.
Marauders are simple in design and easy to work on with basic mechanical skills.

You may want to use the search function as well. When i was repairing and hot rodding my uncles marauder I foilund lots of useful information here. Once you get some search terms for the modifications you can google as well. Only ones I remember is bstanley and depinger. Cant remember what they do.

Missing the bubble isnt an issue if you like the gun. The info is still on AGN just have to search.

The B-Staley mod is useful. It’s very easy to do and also un-do if you don’t like the results. In very basic terms you are just adding o rings to cushion the hammer strike in very small increments. My dad still shoots a Marauder .25. We did the B-Staley mod and also added an air tube extension. He still only gets about 25-27 good shots but they are very consistent.

I found the B-Staley mod to not meet my needs. It sort of works but the O-ring stack can fall over and it was not consistent and did not meet my power needs. I use FFH and SSG now.

The last of the Bottle drop adapters that were SAFE were Screw on types and ended in the era of WAR ( Wicked air rifles ) and early pre JSAR rifle production.
This falls into an @ time line of 7 to 10 years ago.
Built 3 over the last Decade + and still have one that will get buried with me when that time comes ... as it has ALL the best of the best from the era when Marauder modification were common.
Side lever breech able to utilize a tension barrel, Bottle converted, High output balanced valve, LW hammer & SSG, External adjustable regulator etc etc ....

Thank you, that's about what come to discover too. Fortunately though in trying to track down a bottle drop i have come across JSAR replacement aluminum tube that is probably a better option for me anyway.

Another mod that generally ONLY reduces weight, BUT DOES COME WITH A FEW WARNING !!!!
Do Not exceed 3k fill pressure !!
Do Not use the factory steel hammer, but an MDS nylon type which is lighter as well ideal for Regulator converted actions.
* Make sure the replacement tube I.D. matches the OEM tube specs, as larger tube I.D.s will / can suffer o-ring extrusion and be leak prone.
** I have one of those too on a Gen 1 Marauder

Two of the rifles in the picture I posted have the JSAR aluminum tube (two lower) and two (the upper two) have a AGR hybrid tube. The black side lever is mostly JSAR parts. AGR makes a hybrid tube that retains the steel aft section but has an aluminum forward section. The JSAR is factory dimensions including the ID so it can be regulated. The AGR part has a thicker sidewall and cannot take a regulator. Both knock weight off and improve balance.
The advantage of the hybrid tubes is that a conventional hammer can be used. The all aluminum JSAR tube must use a Delrin or plastic hammer. Both are wonderful.

I have a couple of JSAR aluminum tubed Marauders and they are phenomenal. I also have a bottled Marauder that I built up that is great too, but they are all great in very different ways. I had one of the tubes made an extra 3” longer to make up for the air lost to the regulator and plenum in that one - the gun isn’t any longer and the weight added for the extra shots it delivered was minimal.
The aluminum tube transforms the gun, dropping a full pound off it... while that does not sound like a lot, in the hand it is - especially since it shifts the balance point a bit closer to the body.
The bottled Marauder makes a great bench gun, as it is heavier than stock - but mine also has a fat LW barrel on it that adds about a pound of weight by itself
All are Gen 1 guns.

I will chime in to also say that the JSAR aluminum air tube completely changes the feel of the gun. Especially when paired with the lighter synthetic stock. A superbly balanced off-hand hunting rifle.
