Did Discovery drop it's prices?

I haven't looked for a while but, I'm noticing some Discovery SFP scopes on Amazon in the $80 range that I could have sworn used to be $150+? Am I missing something here? Also I'm pretty sure WestHunter might be the same company. With the Discovery scopes I'm seeing there are hardly any reviews.

I have a west Hunter and multiple Discovery scopes. The west Hunter is horrible in comparison. The discovery scopes are clear and bright at all levels. The westHunter is distorted and unusable over half it's range of adjustment. Just my humble opinion. westHunter was a waste of 150-ish dollars.

I will continue to support Discovery. For me, the value exceeds the cost.

Did they bring prices down then? I'm seeing Discovery 6-24 scopes in that $80 range which seems really inexpensive.

+1 for Discovery scopes. Loving the HDs.

There are significant price differences between Alibaba and Aliexpress selling Discovery scopes too.

Likely a vendor buying from Alibaba then reselling on Amazon or EBay for profit undercutting all other vendors.

I would ultimately worry about the honoring and handling of any warranty issues regardless if they have lifetime or 3 years or what not. That's just me though.

Aren't Airgun Archery Fun in Canada selling their Discovery scopes and offering in house Lifetime Warranties?

They are selling from the Discovery store on Amazon.

If you need an inexpensive high magnification 10 yard side focus scope with decent glass and can wait for a month worth of shipping time then Aliexpress has the BSA Tactical 8-32x44 side focus for around $75 with free shipping from China. It appears to be an extremely similar scope compared to the Mueller version that sells for $219 to $259 which cost 3 times the price. The lower magnification $85 Aliexpress 4-14x44 BSA 10 yard side focus scope has extremely striking similarities to the Primary Arms version for roughly triple the price. I have read about major price shock situations with the Vector Veyron and Discovery brand compared to US Optics TS-12x as well.

If you have well more than ample amount of money to comfortably afford to pay a lot more for the same item labeled under a different brand name then more power to you. I do know some rich people and they insist on paying way more than us poor folks for the same things including paying full retail for them rather than price shopping smart simply because they can afford to pay more.

I had the chance to look through a fellow shooter's scopes who had both BSA 8-32x44 side focus and Mueller version mounted on different rifles. They looked nearly identical which were surprisingly clear at the higher magnification range. He did sheepishly mention that the Mueller cost about 3 times the price of the BSA.

If cheap is a priority then the $48 Amazon 6-24x50 15 yard minimum front focus CV Life red green illuminated reticle is hard to beat for the price. Amazon does seem to have a good satisfaction guarantee return policy.

If you are hard set on Discovery brand then the Discovery HD 4-20x50 FFP illuminated for $185 from Alibaba simply can't be beat in optical greatness but there is a 5 piece minimum order. Otherwise pay $299 from eBay or Aliexpress with free shipping both direct from China for just one or pay extra through Airgun Archery Fun in Canada or a US dealer such as Airgun Optics Plus. Buy from the vendor that offers the best no hassle warranty if paying more than $185 for it.

@Batman2

I'm not hard set on any brand. I have never owned a Discovery but see many people who have them and seem to like them. I have owned many BSA scopes and have had some problems with the glass being very dim. If you say that 8-32 BSA was clear glass I would tend to believe you. Mueller have good and bad reviews like most scopes in this price range. I have never ordered from Ali express, but it seems most folks do okay ordering from them. A month in transit eh?

these are great scopes not cheap ones from discovery
