@ 910 fps from the 1-38" twist SKOUT 35" barrel .... Wowzers stacking pellet on pellet at 80 yards when clean shots were taken. Going up north to blast away at the Belding Ground squirrels next weekend .... Can't wait to see the hurt these BIG .30's can do to the sage rats
I shot a big woodchuck yesterday with a .30 hades. I expected some acrobatic moves for a little bit but he just flopped straight down. Only movement I saw was the tail salute!
The Hades out of my Royale 500 (.25) are devastating on ground squirrels & one of the best for accuracy out of that gun. Not so great out of my Boss (.30) only because it's shooting at 855fps. I'm sure if I adjusted for 900fps they'd be great but I hate messing with the pellet perfection in that gun. Wait til you hear the SCHWACK when hitting squirrels, it's addictive. Good hunting!
I'm out for the GS hunt for 3+ days so some fiddling with speed will happen. The Skout at 1200 psi throws em @ 910 and up about 1600 psi near 1000 fps. We'll find out soon enough & report back.
What I've found out of Hades in all calibers is I get my best accuracy from the superior heavy than the superior. It's kinda crazy really but I can stack pellets on on top of another with JSB exact Diabolo through all my superior liners but change mags to JSB Hades and the ground opens way up. If I put the Hades through my slug liner with a little faster twist rate and I'm right back to bullseyes. Also, I can run the Hades 20-40fps faster and retain equal stability to the JSB Exact at 860-880.
This might sound crazy cause the 30 caliber Hades and FX Atomic are supposed to be 100% identical just renamed. But, I've done dozens of side by side comparisons and Hades takes the winners circle every time. Not by much, but a clear winner in accuracy
