I own a very nice gas ram Diana 340 Luxus curly walnut stock and a synthetic stock gas ram Lawrence of Arabia EMS model 34 rifle.
From the factory the forearm screws of both rifles have a sharp star lock washers that are in contact with the stock. These washers chew up the wood and synthetic and cause damage and allow the screws to get loose. The easy solution is to place a smooth regular washer in contact with the stock and star washer under screw head.
It seems pretty obvious to me Diana should never have allowed this forearm problem to exist. There are also after market forearm cup/screw kits available for an even nicer solution. I have these products on my TX200 and HW77. They look nice and prevent stock screws from getting loose better than factory.
