You beat me to it! If you enjoy tuning, the nice thing about the 54/56 platform is that there are a number of adjustments that can be made in order to enhance accuracy. But, it takes patience and adjustments should be made systematically, one thing at a time. Detailed notes help. The tiniest change can make big improvements.
However….All of the available adjustments can be a bad thing too and incorrect moves, or things coming loose , moving too many things at once, etc can have a negative impact on accuracy.

My avatar is 4 groundhogs all taken at 30 yards with a D54 in .22 shooting 18 gr. JSBs. The rifle is right above them.
I set my sled up using a method put forth by Scott Hull who goes by Scotchmo on the forums.
Hector Medina is also a good source of info on setting up a D54.
Compare notes after reading everything that you can on them and use what works for you.
