Diana Airbug opinions

I own a Diana P-Five and a Umarex SA10.

I hated the P-Five at the beginning since I couldn't hit anything. With time I solved the issue modifying the front sight. Now with the bigger sight radius I really like it and I'm having much greater groups than with the SA10.

I like the SA10 as training for "normally shaped pistols" , my range shooting improved a little bit when I started using airguns at home. I like I don't need to cock each time, CO2 is simple and cheap.
The SA10 is almost the only blowback using diabolo pellets, single/double action, field strippable, CO2 and pellets in the magazine, so I've not found "better replicas" to buy.
These pistols seem to not last forever, but surely they're fun in the meanwhile.

Anyway... To "fill the gap" I'm thinking about a Diana Airbug, opinions on this choice considering the above current situation?

Thank you!

it would be a good choice good sights, wood grip that some say are a bit bulky, they have proved to be accurate and the trigger will make your other two look like blocks of cement
price is alright you get a mag
the question is does it have early Chaser trigger group or second version Chaser trigger group
first version much better and can be made to be very good but out of the box is just fine
that P-five is a dog, the last change i did to mine was remove the trigger spring, i think i was one of the early buyers of these pistols as Snowpeak

The Airbug is an excellent CO2 pistol...very, very rugged and pretty much trouble free. We are a group of 7 competitors training for the Olympic 10 meter Air Pistol challenge. We could not initially afford a $500-$1500 Olympic designed pistol. For $129 and a 24 box of quality CO2 cartridges we can practice over a 1000 rounds of low cost .177 pellets each a month...that's 7000 rounds a month for our group! There are some good YouTube videos on this subject. You need to adjust the rear adjustable sights upon purchase, a couple of us had to adjust the 2 stage trigger which is fantastic and a requirement for 10 meter competition. We do not use the magazine, our rules are single shot only. Be sure to put a small dab of silicone grease on the tip of each cartridge before insertion. After several months and over 20,000 shots, we have not worn out an airbug yet. Shop around you will find them from$129 to $160. They are even stocked at Tractor Supply...a favorite rat killer for farmers and ranchers for years. Very, very highly recommended and for the $ investment, cannot be beat! We use silencers** so we can practice individually in our homes, patios or back yards. If you spit, that is louder than the report! The silencer comes with the front sight adaptor. Takes all of 1 minute to remove the front sight including 5 minute epoxy the adaptor to the end of the bbl....be sure to ask for the adaptor with the front sight. Looks factory! Cost $30 delivered for the Airbug kit. Good luck!

1911Tex i would assume your group has take the grip frame off your pistols to find the second trigger adjustment screw
i have been working with Diana Chasers for a long time and their triggers were easy to improve, the new ones not so much
the trigger needs new pins and shims as needed longer adjustment screws and i have added a trigger stop in the sear and what you have is a nice trigger would it be legal for your purposes maybe not

Yes our Airbugs have a great 2 stage trigger and yes once a month we completely disassemble and clean our air pistols as sop, no different than any other ultra high volume shooter will do to maintain their pistol. However, you cannot begin to compare a PCP air pistol made for specifically for World Olympic Competition with a $139 C02 AirBug. What the Airbug does for us, we can continue to improve our Olympic Disciplines, record target points, compete with other olympic shooters and improve with practice, practice, practice, so that when we qualify for the December national trials which a few of our team certainly will, we will then earn the grants to be able to purchase the official USA Shooting/Olympic PCP Airguns and retire our C02 Airbugs. And by the way, our team is unique and the first time in Olympic history that 70-80+ year olds will qualify for the 10 meter!!! I am the active coach for our team. USA Shooting and the Olympic committee are really rallying behind us. And by the way, we figure our 7 Airbugs will have accumulated over 60M rounds by December!
