Diana diana 48 poi 10inches low with optically centered scope at 12 inches BKL 301 rings

I would try a bit farther shooting , say 30 yard zeroing . IT is really hard to zero the scope to the poi by using the mount @ 12 yds.
AND what are you going to do @ 50 yards your optical zeroed scope is pointing (?) say 15 degrees down . That's why they make adj. in the scope .

slightly underpowered but reasonable
Your ES is higher than I’d expect. Two things to check. One is to make sure the cocking rod is adjusted properly. Should feel just a little pressure in last 1” or so closing and it should kind of snap shut lightly and stay closed. If that’s good it might be time for a new breech seal. They actually shoot very well tuned in 14-16 FPE range. A handful at full power in .177.

so it seems to have a small amount of pressure on the last 2inches of the cocking stroke and the cocking arm snaps to the action roughly 1.5-2inches from the action and I fo plan on putting a tune kit in it and replacing all seals

Sounds like it’s about right. Might have to readjust after replacing breech seal. You’ll want a spring compressor to work on that gun. Stock spring has quite a bit of pre-load.
so I ordered this clamp to use as a compressor

Groz 48-inch T-Bar Woodworking Clamp | Heavy Duty | Malleable Iron Head (39101) https://a.co/d/1ysHRP9

I am interested to see if it is stock or the spring is just worn out is is a super soft shooting gun

This is stange. My 48 doesn't. That the 54 and 56 need a droop mount is plain to see for me but not the recoiling ones.
Oh yes, what is BKL301 and Athlon BTR 4-14? Are these monster scopes? Plain to see then why they shoot low compared to the open sights
So they need a droop mount when scoped with big scopes. Any huge sope needs a droop mount the heavier it is, the higher mounted, the more so.

Says 10 inches low at 12 inches at the top.
I had to clean coffee from my desk after reading it.
me too, but tea.

that's unbelievable much.
anyway, that's quite a low energy. The 48 isn't supposed to properly work undersprung unless specially short stroked.
that low shooting gets worse the longer the lock time and the 48 is long stroked That's why they should be sprung as powerful as possible, at least with the genuine FAC spring. When your gun then doesn't yield 18-19 fpe, I'd see to the breech seal as said above.

By the way: in another thread I asked if there's any 48/52 that doesn't shoot to the left? And the reponses are not the expected ones.
So, I ask again more precisely: Is there any 48/52 that doesn't shoot to the left with open sights? For I cannot tell where a scope is looking at. But the open sights are mounted precisely enough to tell.

my hawke vantage has roughly the same droop as the BTR with medium rings

this Gunn shoots 4-5 inches to the right when the open sites are set to center at 30yds

it is a amazing shooter and soft recoiling I am not much of a open site shooter but I am consistently getting sub 1inch groups at 30 without any pellet testing or bench rest

that being said I do plan on putting a tune kit in if I feel confident that I will be able to reach close to optical zero
