Thanks! It seems to be in very good condition. It has a date stamp of 08 95. I've had it a few weeks, came from Airguns of Arizona. Never dealt with them before, I'd recommend purchasing pre-owned guns from them. For a 30 year old rifle, it sure seems to be in great shape!
Nope, don't be scared. Plenty of threads on this subject and is the way to go if the droop compensated mount isn't enough. Maxing scope elevation on that gun is a scope killer. One thing I did notice my elevation on the scope is almost maxed out, i dont really like that. I ordered the rws mount with droop compensation. Apparently from reading these seem to benefit from that mount. Some have suggested bending the barrel...I have all sorts of presses in my shop so sure I could bend the barrel but that sorta scares me.
Im hoping the mount helps. In the event it isn't i will remember your encouragement and find some threads on how to get it done. ThanksNope, don't be scared. Thanks for the suggestion. I've considered getting some of those for other guns with high power. I certainly will now. The heaviest I have is 10.5 baracuda hunters.Brian: If you have a .177, try JSB Exact Monster Diablo 13.43gr pellets. It has the weight of a .22 but flat shooting like a .177 and accurate as the dickens.
Its great all around gun. My others were too powerful for what I wanted (Hatsan 95 and Crosman NP, etc) and didn't have the accuracy the 34 does. I believe mine is a t01, I haven't messed with the trigger yet.The 34 is one of my favorites ...it's a do it all springer . Mine is a 22 with t06
I wouldn’t risk this, unless the barrel is truly bent as a result of physical damage. I worked for a major firearms manufacturer that actually corrected bent barrels, but the technicians doing it were highly skilled and experienced. If your barrel is truly bent, find a good gunsmith to do it.One thing I did notice my elevation on the scope is almost maxed out, i dont really like that. the scope mount you had on looked to be RWS C mount if it is you can adjust that mount to center your scope. One thing I did notice my elevation on the scope is almost maxed out, i dont really like that. It does look similar but I don't believe it is. I got a bunch of those at a flea market awhile ago, not sure what they actually are as far as mfg. I put this on a surface plate and checked with an indicator and it was basically parallel so I don't think it would help with droop...if that makes sense?the scope mount you had on looked to be RWS C mount if it is you can adjust that mount to center your scope.
The older 34s were the bestBeen a lurker for some time here. Learned quite a bit from the posts...Thanks!
Always had some sort of air guns but never took them too serious. I live on an agricultural property, able to legally shoot firearms here though i have a residential neighborhood surrounding me so i try not to upset the neighbors (they don't like my loud tractors and other ag type of stuff and call the police when i burn, etc...though im zoned ag so im able to do things my in town neighbors cant.)
I needed some way to thin my squirrel population. Bought a crosman break barrel and started shooting, trying different scopes, different rings, other budget springers, various pellets, etc. I was getting decent accuracy but I felt it could be better. Came across a 30 year old Diana 34 in .177...WOW what a difference. I know it's still in the realm of budget springers but it's a huge difference. Currently at 860fps with 7.9 cphp.
Next up will be a tune kit and spring. There seems to be a few different spring options? Im not solely concerned with velocity, was considering the "Old school" kit from air rifle headquarters.
Any other spring/tune recommendations before I dive in?
