Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 FFP Reticle

I like features and price of this scope, plus it focuses down to 10 yards.

However the "Reticle" is way to busy. A single dot or plex would be perfect.

Any suggestions?

Then why look at FFP?

FFP scopes can take advantage of a "busy" reticle.

I suggest you look at SFP scopes.

Check out the Aztec Emerald FFP it has that single dot, is illuminated and has an uncluttered reticle.

FFP = First Focal Plane

SFP Second Focal Plane

I don't understand how Focal Plane relates to Reticle

I think his point is that FFP often have busier reticles, and usually don’t have a very basic reticle like you said you would prefer. Basic reticles like single dot and pled are usually only found in SFP. Wouldn’t be much of a point to a FFP scope with a single dot or basic reticle.

I use Vortex scopes and must say they were extremely well . I dont really use SFP anymore ... I am FFP all the way ! I have been spoilt

i have this vortex scope. great scope. i thought it looked busy until i started using it. honestly, u dont notice the christmas tree at all unless u r using it. one thing i would like to mention though is with this being a FFP, any power under 9 or 10x the reticle becomes very small and hard to read. i use mine at 12x and have no issues.

another thing is if you are one to set and leave your scope at a set power after sight in, theres not much advantage to a FFP scope. i always find my true holdovers by shooting anyway. cant ever completely trust those ballistic calculators .
