Every 3rd Sunday at the MPR, we hold a match for Airgun Field Target, 8:30 am setup, 9:00 am start.
On April 17th-‘s match, the Easter Bunny came by and left some treats on the targets for the shooters. He also left some crisscrossing, devilish winds as well.
Scores were still good, 58 possible shots and the top shooter knocked down 51 one of them. Targets are at unknown distances, and airguns limited to 20 ft/lbs- that’s a 10.3 grain pellet going 920 fps or less.
Those little lead pills get buffeted by an errant air channel quite easily, leading to either incredibly lucky coincidences of aim with an intersection with the Kill Zone and the target falling, or extremely intelligent shooters divining the invisible eddies, calculating the deviations and adjusting appropriately.
