Do you guys get very much participation in your silhouette matches? I’ve been watching others post about attendance at their own silhouette events and there doesn’t seem to be much interest. There is nothing within three hours of where I live. In fact your club is one of three that are all about a three hour drive from me. Locally, there is a rimfire group that has silhouette matches. I reached out to them and they invited me to come along and shoot my air rifle with them. I was excited to do just that. But, even they have such limited interest that there has only been one official match in the last ten months. Instead they just get together and have a “fun” shoot. I think silhouette shooting is really fun and challenging but it appears I’m in the minority.😁

No.
In fact the program at Diablo was suspended for two months for non-participation until we elected a new airgun vice-president. Basically it is just something to shoot with your airguns. As stated, it is informal. Shoot the way you want. Some of us (Including a former Olympic shooter (1980)) prefer to do it the way it was intended. Standing, offhand. I have 20 yards in my own yard so I do not need to drive 60 miles, pay a fee for the range and a bridge crossing but, like hunting, it is not really about the shooting. Camaraderie is a very important factor. Especially as one ages.
