Developing a standard for rating airgun "noise"/sound level?

Suggestion: Maybe with sign-in at the next few air-gun shows and/or tournaments, do a short survey on the best way to standardize / consistently communicate airgun 'noise'. Right now its a variety of: backyard friendly, mouse-fart quiet, barks, cracks, thumps, etc. along with decibel levels. Add in wavelength (low pitch vs high pitch) and its hard to tell what's going on without hearing the airgun in person. (Video's don't do justice to gun sounds.) Noise levels before and after adding a moderator is also very useful information. Would getting a few industry-heads and tournament/reviewer guys together in a room maybe result in something that makes sense for the betterment of all? Right now "noise level" descriptions just seem all over the place - and this is something that could really help the consumer. (I'm divided if 'gun operation sounds' are distinctive enough to address - vs out-the-barrel sounds, but pitch may have merit.)
