Delta Wolf

Hi all. Just got my DW .22 yesterday so not expecting miracles until i tweak and tune.
So far I only have a tin of Exact jumbo heavy 18.13. Turned the reg down to 140 and trying speeds 900-990. Have one amazing group then one terrible one.
Would welcome pellet and setting suggestions. There is really not a lot of help or info out there.
Questions-
When you take the bottle off to de-air and dry fire till empty, do you have any residual pressure showing on the reg? I get 37 bar when its defiantly empty. something not right there?
If you take the mag out to fill before its empty, is the a quick way to reset the counter?
How many of you have paid for the dongle? £120 total rip off for a gun of this price.

my dw does the same there is always a little air left in the gun I would not worry about it , I have adjusted mine alot with out any problems , I would take the barrel off and remove the shroud then the barrel and chrony good , my gun did have real good groups then bad , after I cleaned it the groups stayed the same ,the patches came out with very little on them but the chrony was very dirty

I keep my reg at 160 and it seems to hold the best groups with the jsb hades and howler and 25g monsters

Thanks. Im not sure 37 bar should stay in the gun, its quite a lot. Not sure if its really there or the transducer is misreading.

The pressure sensor has an output, even at zero pressure. You're just seeing the interpretation of that. There is no actual pressure in the rifle. The Red Wolf pressure sensor acts the same.
140 bar for an 18.1 grain pellet is quite high. It's been a while since I tuned mine for that but I recall it being 110 bar to get 920 fps and dialed the settings back to 895 at that reg pressure.
The Factory mode shows a reg set pressure that's quite high and may actually need it to give close approximations for your velocity input. It was designed that way to cover a LARGE range of projectiles and velocities... not because it's ideal. The best way to find the reg pressure is to start low with it and use a high power SET and gradually tweek the reg upward till you get a little more than the velocity you're desiring, then reduce your SET settings till it drops below that to the velocity you desire.

Hope you're having fun with it.

Thanks Bob. Have just cleaned the barrel as recommended above. Didnt think it would need it after only about 200 pellets but actually, Ive never seen such caked black patches coming out a gun. Way better now but still have a problem with the first shot or 2 after I leave the gun for about 10 mins. Dosent look like the reg is creeping.
I wish where was a way to tell the settings the gun is using in 'factory' mode like volts and pulse time when its hunting for a speed. Are there any charts/graphs for suggested volt/pulse combinations? I guess Im just going to have to buy that dongle for advanced fiddling.

I don't have the consumer dongle but it SHOULD enable you to see the process. Mine has a factory tune mode that outputs the speed, volts, dwell, and other stuff to the Status screen. It can be helpful but if you know the upper and lower limits, staying near the area in percent for the power expected will get you close. The volts and dwell are pretty interchangeable... not like the Red Wolf. For instance: I want a 700 fps w 22 cal 14.3s... I'd start with 66 v and 1600 dwell and reg at 95. This is very much toward the low end of settings. It will likely be hot but its a start point. Tuning the reg pressure as mentioned in an earlier post to barely enable the velocity you're desiring will eliminate the first low shot.
The biggest thing is take notes and don't be afraid to experiment...
