Delta Wolf .25 cal. aka "White Fang" ready for the range...

Very nice , I hope you'll have more to share. I have been thinking about the same set up but have been stewing over the Midas tac vs the new Hawke 6x24x56 FFP. sidewinder Several questions -- would you have any comment on the Hawke vs the Athlon? And what caps did you use for the Athlon? Kinda bugs me they don't have specific caps that they sell. Any comment on your scope mount --one piece vs. rings.

When you first turn the gun on re the safety is there a few seconds of delay before it's ready to shoot? If hunting is that an issue?

All looks great , thanks for posting! ksb

I don’t have any experience with the new Hawke Sidewinders. I did have a few of the older SFP 6.5-20x models and the were good scopes, but turrets were mushy. I really like the Athlon Midas and Ares line of scopes. IMHO best scopes for the money. I normally use a ScopeWerks elevation turret once I have everything worked out...

When you turn the gun on, there is a short delay. But my the time you have the gun shouldered it’s ready to fire.

Hello, could you tell me if the Delta Wolf has a more settable time for the auto power off? One thing that stopped me about the Red Wolf is according to the many reviews that I saw of the gun, the auto power off is not user settable. This is a deal breaker for me as a hunting and pesting gun. I think I read somewhere that with the Delta Wolf, you could set the power off to something like 30 minutes. If this is the case and I have the rifle turned on ready to shoot and decide not to take the shot, putting the safety back on would turn off the gun?

Yes, the time is resettable from 30 seconds to at least 1.5 hours if I remember correctly. Unlike the Red Wolf where you could go weeks without recharging even if you shot daily, the Delta Wolf will need recharging much more frequently. It’ll last you a couple days of shooting most of the day, but you better charge it again before you head out for the next weekend. The good thing is that you don’t need to remove the battery to charge it. Just plug in a standard USB C cable to the port on the gun. Now before I hear all the high pitched whines about charging the gun more often, we all charge our cell phones every night as a matter of routine and don’t whine about that... ;)

Benchrest setup for the .25 Delta Wolf. Thanks @stoti for the recommendations. In two words - ROCK STEADY!

Centercut,

Just wondering , that 's a great setup, being that it is likely the most expensive airgun out there, what care do you take with the air you put in it? What type of compressor do you use? and any filters too? Are you happy with that side of your set up? Any compressor problems?

Thanks for your reply on the battery usage. Good info !!

FYI, I have an AireTex Dive compressor that makes grade D breathing air at 310 bar. Could fill SCUBA tanks with it if it was sampled periodically per gubmint regs. Its an excellent clone of a Bauer Junior 2, equivalent to the Coltri MCH-6 or the Alkin W-31 in quality of build, speed, and quality of air it produces. Have had it almost a year now, zero problems.

You the man!!! NICE!!! I have not seen that brand around , where can they be purchased? Dealers? That certainly takes all of the risk away from injuring that new Delta Wolf !! I looked at the MCH6 Any guess how heavy your Air tex is? I got a good look at the Alkin 31 upright --on wheels-- up close and even with wheels it is one heavy dude !!

Looks brand spankin new still !! . Thanks for the pic's !

I'm not sure if Bruce Dodson is still selling them ($2500). I think so but he went quite a while waiting on his latest shipment. Its about 100 pounds, similar to the Coltri MCH-6 ($2700), not as big as the Alkin W-31 ($3100) which I think is about 140 pounds. Bruce specs them out from a manufacturer (China?) but they are an exact copy of the Bauer Junior 2. He has a very good reputation in the airgun world, used to re-brand Alkin Compressors before they opened shops in the USA (don't quote me on that)… Its called an AireTex Mini-Magnum.

Thanks for all of the good info and pic's. I am currently getting scuba quality air from the dive shop and thinking compressors. FX Crown currently and Delta Wolf soon I hope. As you have been at this certainly longer than I have wanted to ask if you have an opinion on the Yong Heng. Was thinking a YH and these filters--

Been concerned about air quality in these higher end guns. Do you have an opinion about this. My usage is such I am not sure about an MCH 6 right now until perhaps my usage picks up. I do want to fill 74 CF bottles. I tried Bruce but wondering if he is still in business-- no reply from him?

Any thoughts appreciated. ksblank
