Ok, so I shot White Fang for about 3 hours this morning with my buddy Tony @pesty3782 and his wife Barb. Conditions were bad with constantly swirling winds 12 to 15 mph, some gusts even higher. I started off shooting the .25 Exact Heavy at about 885 FPS. Here are two groups eight shots each. Best I could do under the conditions.
After that I tried shooting the Exact Heavy at 915 FPS and again at 860 FPS, but 885 seemed to group the best. One thing I did notice is that my Mk1 Heavies are EXACTLY the same as the Mk2. I’ve read on AGN recently that this is a common issue with JSB and that many cases of Mk2 were filled into Mk1 tins, or labeled incorrectly or something. I do know I would have liked to try some REAL Mk1s in the Delta Wolf because I’ve heard they shoot better in that barrel than the Mk2.
Anyway, I had some JSK KO slugs and some FX Hybrid slugs, so I tried them at 50 yards. The KO at 925 FPS and the Hybrids at 960 FPS. No Bueno. See below. Top photo KO, bottom photo Hybrids. 10 shots each.
So after that we shot some KYL and did some plinking before we moved back to 102 yards Really too much wind to make any definitive calls, but here is ten shots shot rapidly during a slight lull in the wind. Aim point kept constant, center bullseye.
All in all, a good start with the new .25 Delta Wolf. I fill to 250 bar and shoot to reg pressure at 170 bar for about 50 shots. I didn’t try shooting past reg pressure to see how the gun would handle that, but I think it’ll shoot another ten shot mag without dropping off speed. As far as a pros and cons list I’ll work on that after I get to know the gun better... Many pros, very few cons. Here’s a pic of Tony shooting White Fang and his ten shot group at 50 yards.
My initial overall impression of the .25 Daystate Delta Wolf...
I don’t like it...
I LOVE IT!
