When do you have to use this fitting when connecting hoses to fittings etc ? I just got one of the hoses from AOA flexible hose i watched there you tube video about hoses and they dont show using the dowdy seal between quick connect and the hose ?

Delirin Seal / Bonded / dowty seal

Dowty seals are usually not used for that but the small white plastic/Delrin disc are (inside female threads for qd). Pictures would help!

When you have NPT pipe threads you don’t need a seal. ( Because threads are on a tapered piece of pipe ) There is an interference fit that seals the connection. But on metric or BSPT. The threads are straight so they need a seal to seal the connection. Hope this helps. MM
