Delay Circuit for compressor

I did on my Air Charger. The unit came with two switches, as I recall, one for compressor motor and one for coolant pump.

When I was done pumping air I would turn of the compressor switch and mounted to my joist overhead I had an electrical box with a rotary timer and a three position toggle switch that was OFF, ON and TIMER.
While pumping air and running water pump the electrical box was in the ON position. When pumping air was complete I turned the switch on the compressor to OFF but water still pumping. I then flipped the switch on the electrical box on the joist to TIMER and set it for 15 minutes.
That way I didn’t have to wait around for 15 minutes for cool down, or worse, walk away and leave the coolant pump running till the next time I was in the basement.

I have done it but not on a PCP compressor. On my 60 gallon shop compressor I mounted an auxillary fan with a time delay relay setup. It is configured so the auxillary fan turns on when the compressor turns on and remains running for a preset period of time after the compressor turns off. My timer went from 0 to 60 minutes if I am remembering correctly.

I was able to find a Chinese knock off of a name brand for less than twenty dollars on the delay timer. If you are interested I will remove the cover from the electric box and take a picture for you. Note that the setup I put together is too bulky to fit inside the case of most PCP compressors.
