Dedicated slug gun??

@odoyle I do stick to pellets, but nice to know what the gun is capable of gor when I can get out and about.

Go to EBay buy a variety of Varmint knockers. Mines a 25 caliber FYI...the HAWKE Scope no longer resides on this gun.

Don't really need a dedicated slug gun myself. I shoot a variety of slugs from my .25 700mm, slug A barreled Impact including, NSA 33.5, 36 36.2, 38.5gr as well as the VK 34gr and they all shoot .5 to 1 inch at 100 yards. But the great thing about it is I can put some JSB heavy MK2 pellets in it and they shoot very near the same on the same tune.

I do shoot around 74 FPE but the gun will do better if I tune for it.

Thanks all...

As much as I wanted to try something new I am leaning towards yet another Impact...

Seems most everything else is hit or miss. Have had no luck with slugs from my Red Wolf in either .22 or .25 past 40 yards and my Uragan does good with them but still shoots pellets better....

YO, tried a few in my Crickets last night and no luck at all.....

Thanks again all for the insights...

I took have interest in the outcome of this thread. I have also been considering a dedicated slugger. My eyes have been on that mighty Evol in .30 for quiet sometime. There are several folks here that have successfully set it up for slugs & hopefully they will shed some light.

From what I have read, the Evol 30 comes tuned good for JSB 44gr, but shoots pellet weight slugs(40-50gr) very well too. However, I have seen one video (https://youtu.be/amH3ucjF8wY) by mtnGhost, shooting 62gr VKs at 120m into one ragged hole, awesome stuff.

The Evol .22 HPS is a slug shooter out of the box( https://youtu.be/N5SIo3Fb1CE), (https://youtu.be/T5C6nBQ9ULA). You already have an impact, why collect the same gun, especially a reconfigurable one? Try something new.

All the best.
