Dedal vs MTC SWAT 12X PRISMATIC

Any user comparisons. Looking for a small light scope for <100 hunting. Comparably priced. MTC is for non recoiling rifles only. Not sure if Dedal would go to powder. My old eyes probably would require the 12x over 6. I'm playing with magnification comparisons while I'm frozen in house. Troubles with either?

I have 2 light hunting weapons ( P15 & Maverick) that are RUINED by 2lb scopes. I'm LEANING like the toward the MTC.

All experienced comments welcome. It's enough money that I'd like some honest input. .

I have both of these scopes on my EdGun R5M's. I've have had the Dedel on my .177 for a couple of years now, I love the size and the glass is very clear, Its perfect for the shooting I do with that gun which is usually 25 - 50 yards...... Last year I put a 12X SWAT on my .25 as my eyes are getting older and need more magnification. At first I didn't like it because I just wasn't use to putting my eye right on the scope. I'm now over that and love the scope. Very clear with a larger objective. My average shots with the SWAT 50-100 yards. Both guns are pretty much just for hunting.

As this point in time I prefer the SWAT, but both are nice scopes

Hello I had a MTC 12x it was a great scope but not for my shooting style. I do a lot of red dot shooting and as a result I shoot all my guns with 2 eyes open regardless of optic or sight( irons, dot or magnified). With that said the MTC has a very close eye relief and did not work with 2 eyes open shooting style. Other than that it was a great scope clear, adjustable parallax, illuminated reticle and good warranty. Bought mine used from AOA turned out to be defective AOA replaced it with a new one no questions asked. Great service by them. IF you have any questions about the MTC please ask hope this helps Eric.

I have a Dedal but have never looked through one of the MTC's.

Looking at the specs it appears the Swat 12x would have more field of view than the Dedal at 6x. Does that seem to be the case to you?

I've never seen the FOV specs for the Dedal but have compared it to other scopes at 6x that I consider to have a wide FOV. If I were to estimate I'd say the Dedal has around 6 to 7 meter FOV at 100 meters.

The 12x Swat is listed as a 10 meter FOV at 100 meters. That's impressive.

I had a Dedal, nice scope & decent glass. But as you know kind of underpowered, sold it. I have an Atom now & really like it. That being said most of my associates who try it , hate it. I took it squirrel huntin last year and it was just like I was pointing & click, down went the squirrel. One thing if you get an Atom or Swat 12X. your set up is more critical thant a standard scope. As odd as my set up looks, when I mount the rifle to my shoulder my eye is perfect on the Atom. I use to have a Connect & it was the same way. They are great scopes, but you need to take some time with them. Most people who try them don't give them a chance. Don't know anything about the SWAT 12, never tried that one yet.

I've been looking at both of the scopes mentioned and if I "had to" pick one it would be the MTC due to it's higher magnification. It's made for airgun/rim fire with low power and higher accuracy with higher magnification, however it's still 16oz so not really that much lighter and I would prefer a variable scope at the weight or just few more ozs. That being said the MTC atom at 10.5 oz would be something more inline of what you are looking for. I really like the weight, 10x zoom, wide field of vision and very usable reticle.
