Decocking a FWB Model 65?

Does anyone know if a Feinwerkbau Model 65 pistol can be decocked safely without damage to the gun or the operator? Any special technique?

I have a couple of them but I'm to chicken-sh*t to try it on my babies.

Sorry but NOPE. Even the 300 series rifles NOPE.

Kinda had the idea it would end badly. I also have a 300S that will not be decocked. Very inconvenient, this inability to make the gun safe without discharging a pellet.

These FWB guns were purposely made specifically for olympic competition where shooters don't need to use safeties nor have any need do decock them.

Once they cock and load them they intend to take the shot right then and there.

Notice true competition grade match guns don't even have safeties?

They are low powered anyway so you can just shoot that unwanted last loaded shot into a box of folded up old towels and or throw away clothes especially old jeans that you can get free at garage sales or bazaars or Church rummage sales for maybe 10 or 25 cents to stuff cardboard boxes to make your backdrops to stick your targets on. Don't forget put an old Square cast iron griddle or wok or 1/4" steel plate behind it too. Something made of metal behind is better than nothing just in case even a frying pan or metal server tray. Just like in the 1989 Michael Keaton Batman film he uses a metal serving tray when he got shot by the joker at Vickey's place.

OK, I always get flamed for this one...but here goes anyway. 

As described, there is no practical way to de-cock the FWB 65. But the gun IS designed to be OCCASIONALLY dry-fired. At any top-level match, they will check that your trigger pull weight meets regs, and the way they did that with a 65 was to cock it and trigger it off, un-loaded. That's one reason these guns have a resilient bumper on front of the piston.

You of course do NOT want to make a habit of dry-firing any springer, but should you paint yourself into a corner and have no other choice, once really won't hurt a 65 with healthy seals.

I should add that the typical procedure when doing a trigger-weight test on a 65, was to stuff the muzzle into soft padding on a table top. That at least gives you a little cushioning effect.
