I'm looking for an inexpensive but good decimal/sound meter .I have looked at a ton on the web but I just don't know the junk from a good one,any suggestions guys/gals?

If your trying to use it for air gun sound. Your going to want something with a ( SLOW / FAST ) operation. With that you will be looking at around $200 for the cheaper ones like the one bill_dd97 suggested from Neil.

I skimmed those articles. I'll take more time later. From what I read there they didn't test the functions needed to measure an airgun shot. They tested with sustained frequency, not burst. Also, an external calibrated microphone was used for best results.
