I am studying the online pictures for some time also have WTB posts in various Forums. Not much luck getting some decent thing across the border to Canada without a long wait time and also most likely I would need to do re-machining parts afterwards to fit my Impact.

So finally I decided designing on my own something simple (and less possible moving parts) something like the Ahren's rest. A friend can machine the parts, I have plenty of time for tinkering, the winter will last at my place usually mid to late April. The other design I liked was the NOTA but stepped back from the idea - that would be again a two piece setup.

What would you change or update on that Roger Ahren's one-piece rest? Give me some new ideas.

{at this stage of a design I have elevation fine tuning range at 638mm @ 25, 1293mm @50 and 2600mm@100 meters, that is about 1.5 deg angle. I shall put there a screw with fine pitch :) }

Finally I got my DIY "one-pice-rest" parts together, all on a pile in front of me, I can start assembling. Still winter at my place nowhere to test for couple more weeks...

The last thing remaining and I need your advise:

- Do you let the gun kick back fully as long the inertia? or there is some sort of suspension to reduce or slow down the recoil? I don't believe a hard stop at the rear of the stock is a good idea...

Some repurposed parts from photography hobby and tinkering with 3d SLA prints.

25mm windage and 35mm elevation shall be enough for a jump in between 50 and 100 meters.

This how far I got and some testing remaining... I have the long arca rail and trying to make the surfaces in the clamp slide w/o friction...trying to make the recoil "free floating".

The goal was to have a elevation range covered in between 50 and 150 meters for total distance, but a micro adjustments U-D for target rings.

Still snowing today at my place, this how the magnetic pole shifted looks like effecting the weather as well.
