Dead Calm at 251 m this morning Delta Wolf 🐺 25

I knew it was going to be calmĀ this morning so I was all set up to shoot first thing.Ā

I shot some good groups, I was hoping for something below MOA, it just didn’t happen. Dead calm rarely produces magic groups. However, I absolutely had to try. How often do you see calmĀ in the weather forecast?

It was a great way to start the day before work. These are all five shot or six shot groups. There is one 9Ā shot group which I found very interesting… four of them went in the same hole. I don’t understand how that happens. I only shot nine shots because I ran out of slugs 🐌.Ā

Shooting the 25 Delta wolf 29 grain NSAĀ slugs.

Bd.Ā

Fair enough. At 275 yards with an air gun, it would be similar to playing darts at 75Ā feet.Ā

this is only my second attempt at 275 yards. I have a shot previously at 300, but very limited.Ā

I nowĀ I have a pretty good idea of where my rifle is going to hit. In perfect calm. Which doesn’t exist.

The other night the wind was blowing 3 to 4 miles an hour it was pushing my slug almost 3 feet. So quite often I don’t know exactly where it’s going to hit when I start. It will get better with time.

most guys would put up some type of a circleĀ or target to try to shoot at. I will do similar at some point. But it’s almost kind of silly at this distance, at this point in my shooting.

So to answer your question, I just pick a spot that I can Aim atĀ on my backboard.Ā
see below where my finger is pointing - I was aiming at the 4 x 1ā€œ slice of cardboard. Once I fill the board with paper I will have to draw some targets to shoot at.Ā

Thanks for asking. My targets can look a little confusing sometimes without an explanation.

Very impressive Mike. I’m completely blown away by the RedWolf. Yesterday I was trying knock out slugs and shooting the 217 size with great success. But I found that my rifle likes the 216 size better, and what a difference. At 70 yards I shot at a pellet mark on the steel and the slug landed a inch below the aim point, on the second shot I heard it hit steel but the impact point from the first shot remained unchanged. So I tried another shot and it was the same thing, I even thought I must have been hitting a branch or weeds and deflecting the slug. So I tried again and this time I saw the impact point grow a little bit! The rifle was stacking slugs at 70 yards!Ā
This is the most incredible rifle I’ve ever shot.

This afternoon my second RedWolf is arriving, it’s a .177 HP. After experiencing the .22 HP RedWolf I realized that it was time to sell a few guns and order a .177 too.Ā
They are ferociously expensive it’s true, but they are also worth every penny in my opinion!

Have you tried the 216 knock out slugs Mike? Thanks for sharing your experience and pictures.
