i have been working on project to build an " in the barn" air rifle that I can shoot pigeons at about 10 yards that will not shoot through the metal roof. I tried the Benjamin 392 but pumping it is a pain and the gun just isn't accurate enough for me to place clean kill shots.
I ve got a HW 30 coming from AOA this week but I am concerned that it's going to still be a little to much power. While I'm a little reluctant to mess with a new gun I do know fellows tune their rifles. Thinking if I got a tuning kit and kept original parts or at least have parts on hand.
Could I take a coil off the spring to drop the velocity ?. I know most are looking for MORE power and maybe I'll be ok . Id like the accuracy good enough so I can shoot at the neck knowing a hit will drop the bird and that a miss will not punch the roof.
Any one have experience with springs and "adjusting" them. Or can you order a lighter spring?
