Is there a way to uncock this rifle (without firing) ? Can anyone comment on the sound level of the .25 compared to the .22 Wolverine R. I am talking about the standard versions not the high power.
Thanks for the feedback guys! That is what I thought, but wasn’t sure. I am still wondering how loud the .25 caliber would be with the Huggett and how much louder than my Air Arms S510 .22 caliber.
Is the .25 different from the .22?? My .22 is whisper quiet and all I have to do is squeeze the trigger and let the side lever ease forward and it is uncocked. Not sure what you guys are talking about.
Now I am really confused. I thought that the Wolverine R had an open bolt safety that prevents you from uncocking by pulling the trigger while holding the lever and letting down slowly. Like I do with my Air Arms.
When I accidentally hit the trigger (bad thing to do, I know) with the cocking lever back on my 177 Woverine R, it snaped the lever forward and fired.
On that occasion, it blew the internal barrel "O" ring out, never to be found. I was lucky enough to see this ring as a wear item and bought 10 back ups.
Think I will call AOA and get some clarification about possible differences between calibers and/or production runs. Appreciate the input from everyone!
Best part of it is you won't advance the magazine and the pellet already in the barrel will be sitting there waiting for you to recock and fire. Magazine only advances when you actually fire the gun.
