Daystate solenoid valve question! MK4 and AirWolf

Have you tried putting something softer or noise absorbing over the valve stem? Something like rubber or felt.

I assume the snap is the sound of the solenoid hammer striking the metal valve stem. Something noise absorbing should work and be removable if it doesn't or if it causes any other issues.

I have been thinking about doing something like that in my 25 Cricket.

I have thought about that but I was just wondering if anyone else has anything tried and true. I have some wool padding material I was going to try to see if that would help.

the eltronic daystats are not going to sound like a cricket. because of the eltronic action its faster and sharper. than regular action.
I own all kinds of pcps but the the air wolf is differet all together due to the electrons action.

even though I have an air arms s510 in 22 cal fr example in 35 foot pounds .
my .177 air wolf in 15 food pounds is not as loud but the sound is sharper than the s510 with double the power and that's a fact

That's irrelevant to this discussion. This is about the snap caused by the hammer hitting the valve stem. It doesn't matter if the hammer is controlled by a spring or a solenoid. It's still a snap caused by metal hitting metal with enough force to generate whatever energy is in your shot.

You can get some felt tape or equivalent which comes ready with an adhesive back. You should be able to test it by cutting a small circle to stick over the valve stem. Those tapes should hold for long enough to test so you can decide if you want to do it in a more permanent way (such as with epoxy that won't come off after repeated strikes).

From memory, I tbelieve the Airworlf uses a tubular push solenoid. If it's anything like the tubeular designs I have seen here then the end of the piston might unscrew. If it does, they you can make a replacement using a screw with the same threads. That way, you wouldn't need to alter the original parts in any way at all.
