Daystate Revere satisfaction

Did some trading with Chuckhunter for his Revere .25. When I got it the regulator was sitting on 190 bar. I shot a string over the chrony. It ran the 1st 20 shots at about 815 fps with FX 25.4 pellets. Then came off the reg and ran about 825 fps down to 160 bar then fell off from there. I tore it apart and dropped the reg pressure down to 165 bar. It now shoots the 25.4 FX at 830-833 fps for 18 shots then 2 more shots drops it to 810. So two mags and refill.

The group shown below is 8 shots at a lasered 42.5 yds. After the 1st shot I clicked a few to the right and put 7 more (mag went empty) into one ragged hole. Sweet shooter I'll be holding on to!!

I recently bought a Revere in .22. It shoots the 18 at 865. It's not a powerhouse, nor does it have a huge shot count, but it's adequate in both categories for my needs. And it shoots great. I had to fiddle with the trigger to get it to my satisfaction, but it's great now. I agree, it's a keeper! It's also one of the few rifles of traditional, sporter styling.

I've chased power for some time now and come to the realization that my connection with the gun is more important than the power. There is something special about the way these rifles feel that just seems to make them easy to shoot well.

I do like the look of the wood stocked Evol line. Looks like it would be a nice big brother to the Revere. Hope AAA starts producing that version!

Revere in .177 here.

Its perfect for backyard pestcontrol. I have often been tempted to increase regulatorpressure(to gain more power)but always return to not bubba a gun the works well. Its better then to buy another that has more power a la a Leishy 2, FX Impact 3 or Daystate Safari.

If you are tempted to play with it, you might consider going the other way, for less power. I recently tuned my HW 100, .177, down to a bit over 11 fpe. I'm very satisfied with its back yard versatility, low noise (almost silent), and shot count. And it's still lethal on squirrels. But with the Revere, I'm not sure how you would fine tune the HST after changing the reg set point. I have a Revere in .22, great rifle, but it doesn't invite much owner tuning.

I know a little bit of tuning while owning an Air Venturi Avenger. From what I read, the unregulated version is set optimally from the factory. Maybe I will forgo the regulated one? I’ll see. Thanks for your opinions.

For the Regal XL (Unregulated), try different starting fill pressures and run full chrony strings. On the right side of the gun on the receiver, you should have a sticker/decal with the Suggested Working Pressure (SWP). Mine says 220 BAR but I fill to 210 BAR. Filling at 210 BAR gives me the lowest extreme spreads. To get more shots, you can fill a little more but you'll get larger extreme spreads. In my experience and from others, most fill to 210 BAR.

Good to know, thanks. The regulated one showed up today. I hand pumped it to 240 bar. The reg pressure is set at 170 bar. I will run my shots over the Chrono to see where I am at. They are beautiful rifles. This one had the scope, rings, Hill pump, 0 db moderator, and short rail up front for the sling attachment. ( stud near the butt end

, of course ) It does not look very used.
