Daystate Daystate Revere or Weihrauch HW100 for field target.

I have been looking for mid power 22 pellet shooter and the HW100 and regulated Revere are the two top picks. The only thing I did not like on the HW100 was that I found the cocking on the forward stroke awkward at best.
I have seen some people putting a drop down handle on them. Guess that would mitigate the cocking on close a good deal.
Anyone else notice this or am I just too clumsy?
I really liked the HW100 other than that. Superb trigger and accuracy was very good.

Hmmmm. Until you mentioned the forward cocking issue, I never noticed it on my HW100 .22 Carbine. Way too many good features on that platform to let that deter you.

People complain about the revere trigger just don’t know how to adjust it. I have a revere and a red wolf if the revere was as heavy as the red wolf id choose it over the wolf but i choose my ghost over both. Can’t go wrong with the revere though

Please enlighten me, how did you adjust your revere trigger to be lighter? When I adjust the second stage to where I like it the gun won't cock when I replace the locking grub screw. It takes trial and error to back off the adjustment screw enough so that the locking screw will allow the gun to cock. By that time the trigger is still too heavy for my liking. I would appreciate any advice.

I had the same issue. Leave out the grub screw and use a drop of low strength locking compound on top of the set screw. I did it over a year ago and it's been perfect.

Can’t say i remember the exact procedure as it was over a year ago but i got my 177 first and its at 6-8 oz and then i got my 22 and its the same. Haven’t touched them since. For as much as people praise the red wolf trigger i much prefer the revere as it has more feel and is almost as light. I think the wolf lacks good feel

I got my Revere down to about 7 ounces with no spring changes, using the sear engagement setting as described above. I think that's about as light as it can be set safely without some gunsmithing.
And yes, the Red Wolf feels different. It's a pressure switch and will always feel like one, without the crisp release of a good mechanical trigger. But, it's also very flexible, since it's adjustment range is virtually unlimited. IMO, it is best when adjusted as single stage, and with a light release. Since there is no mechanical engagement, the "first stage" is just a floppy trigger blade.
