Daystate revere 25 regulated

The revere is not a power house and should not be expected to perform like one. The shot count goes 60-70 shots in .177, 30-40 in .22 and probobly 20-30 in .25. What they are, are consistently accurate and smooth shooters that give the owner a problem free experience with little to no tuning effort.

I know the reveres not a powerhouse mainly will be used for a small game hunter currently been using a Mrod 25 cal with great success but it’s big it’s heavy the shot count sucks I’m hoping the revere 25 can give a good solid say 25 shots on the reg at 38-40fpe

I have wondered this too. Mostly, I'd like to know the max power you could get for one magazine of 34gr JSB pellets. I know everyone is going to say that it was designed for the Kings, but I would rather shoot the 34gr pellet slower, than the 25gr faster. Just my preference.
Same here I only shoot 34gr out of my Mrod tuned for 54fpe I get 12 shots with 10fps extreme spread and she’s laser accurate out to 100yards not the case with the kings way to afffected by wind but I love the looks and the size of the revere

So what’s the actual effect of this daystate huntsman in 25 cal version being a mismatch?

From the Daystate website, you can expect 20 shots from the 162cc cylinder at 40ft/lbs in .25 caliber.

That translates to shooting the 34g at 725fps… or the 25.4g at 840fps.

So, relatively low shot count by modern standards but 840fps with the 25.4g seems like a powerful squirrel rifle out to say 45 yards.

The Huntsman series are great handling rifles, regardless of caliber. 20 shots for a squirrel hunter may be more than adequate.

It really comes down to whether you prefer 39 shots at 850fps with 18.13g (.22 @ 30ft/lbs) or 20 shots at 840fps with 25.4 (.25 at 40ft/lbs).

The “mismatch” refers to the air cylinder capacity not being adequate to support the 40 ft/lbs power level. It also refers to 40ft/lbs as being somewhat low for a .25 caliber rifle.

I agree with you, Ed, that 20 shots at 40 ft lbs would be fine for squirrel hunting. I'd love to get 20 shots in a day. I don't think 40 ft lbs is really necessary, however. The 22 at 30 ft lbs would also work fine. I've killed 42 with under 20 ft lbs. 28 with a little over 30 in 22 and 25 (18 with my P35-25 with the first tune I came up with for it and 10 with my P35-22). If anything, the 22 was more effective with no "runners". But the two runners with the 25 were both shot right in the front of the chest and I probably only got one lung. Neither went far and both were recovered. I've only shot two with over 40 ft lbs and they were DRT but my success with less indicates to me 30 ft lbs or so is enough. The under 20 ft lbs squirrels seem to die a little slower and those shot through the lungs ran a little. So I see some benefit of a little more but IMHO 30 ft lbs in a 22 is a great power level for squirrel hunting. But I also see nothing wrong with 40 ft lbs in a 25 if that's what you want to use. And if you want to take something a little bigger more diameter and power would be welcome.

20 shots would not be the best for 30 yard challenge targets, however. But you have other guns for that.

To me your question, brings up some other points. That is a large game,no body shots,if you can not get a clean head shot I would not take the shoot. I think your pick of pellet or slug choice is of upmost importance.
Penetration and expansion of projectile in groundhogs skull.
I hope you are a good shot,.....I hope others with better experience on this subject can give you better information........welcome aboard (y)

I made the mistake of getting the Revere in 25 . I love the style of the gun . I bought unregulated and added Huma reg later.
To prove I like the style I bought the 177 version a month or two ago.
My 25 with reg at 150 tube filled to 250 with JTS 25.39s gets 9 shots on reg. This is between 812 to 821 fps. I’ve since accepted this. Tried reg settings from 120 to 170 bar along with hammer settings. When I use up the various pellets I have I’m going with the Predator GTOs 16.54 gr. More shots and accurate in my limited testing.
