DAYSTATE REPORT

Got word that my redwolf midnite edition has landed....will be shipped to me.monday.. .. HP .22 Midnight

Nevermind. I see "Wolves hunt better at night". :)

I also see they still haven't made the stock more "Benchrest shooting" friendly. They need to flatten out the end of the stock and make it easier to add a bipod at the same time.

Just a question for the RW owners. Have you tuned your gun (pulse rates) up or down from stock and found 2 things: Better grouping and better shot string consistency? I recently send mine back in to be checked over and it was suggested by Daystate to set it back to stock, which is done. But it has a terrible shot string ES of like 42 fps and it doesn't group well at 25m, so I can't use it for benchrest.

OK, I'm having the same problem as you. I haven't done any tuning yet as I can't pin down where the problem might be. As I understand it, the Daystate factory (for the 22 HP) uses the JSB 18.13 for low power, the 25.39 for medium power, and the 34 gr for high power and then tunes each power setting to shoot those particular pellets as accurately as possible.

I am just starting at the bottom and trying to get the 18.13 to shoot well. It would not. So first I started looking at my pellets. I had just run out of my stash of 18.13 and had ordered 2k more of them. When they arrived, they would not shoot well so I measure them using the pelletgage.com gauge and they were all (the entire 2k) undersized. They were smaller than the smallest hole on the gauge which is 5.48mm. So then I ordered 2k more from another source and when they arrived, I found out they were all oversized. They were all (again, the entire 2k) would not go through the largest hole on the gauge which is 5.58mm. So now I've order just one 500 tin from another source and waiting for them to arrive. In the meantime, I've also order some AA 18gr just to see how they shoot out of the RW. Waiting for them also.

I was also investigating the purchase of the "heliboard" aftermarket board for the RW if I'm going to have to tune it myself all over again. I can't see paying $400 for the programmer to fix something that should have been fixed at the factory (this is all assuming that pellet size isn't the problem with accuracy).

My original plan was to go to the Extreme Benchrest competition this year in June but that isn't looking too likely at this point. If you come up with anything for yours, please let me know

Hey kdog did you ever get your night wolf? Did it arrive safely? Pics please

Yes it arrived in one piece and is shooting 5 shot groups I can easily cover with a dime at 50 yds. That's with the jsb monster redesigned on factory power settings hi and medium and less than 200 pellets down the barrel.

Also want to add I’ve had similar issues with 18.1jsb pellets my gun prefers a head dia. Of 5.54,-.55 just bought some that were 5.57 plus gun didn’t like em at all! But I resized them now much better, see my thread under pellets/ammo my particular gun loves the 18.1’s on low for anything under about 75yds! If u can read the wind...

Help !

I have a daystate redwolf hp in .22.

I had taken out the battery to charge. I took it off charge but did not reinstall the battery for about 5 weeks.

Today when I took the gun to the range and put back the battery, the gun is not switching on. I tried putting the battery back on charge thinking I may have drained it some how but all 3 light turn blue on the charger indicating the battery is charged.

Please advise what I should do.

If any one from the company is reading, please help. On the verge of panicking

Take the stock off and make sure you didn't pinch/break the wires going to the circuit board.

i did... all good there.

a friend brought his .25 redwolf over to check, when i connect to his battery my rifle switched on ( and attaching mine to his didnt work either) so the battery or maybe the wires attached to the battery are the issue. i may have damaged them when pulling out the battery.

a visual check seemed fine though. i also removed the tape to check under that but all seems intact.

so what do i do now, where do i find a replacement, complete with the wires and jacks?

do i have options ? or only daystate oem?

on a side note, the battery system is not upto par with the stanrds of this rifle. the system on the pulsar is much better and way more refined than the one on the redwolf. the option of using a 9v battery was also great. hope they come up with an improved version/option.

please do guide as to where to order from ? are batteries caliber or power specific ?

thanks

Daystate electrics sucks in one way or other, that is my personal experience.

Not a big issue if you can get Daystate official support but in our country, these electronics are a big NO to me.

No offense for Daystate but I personally could never appreciate Daystate electric guns in relation to their cost and dependability.
