Daystate Renegade HP in 25 Cal

Can anybody please share with me how good or bad the Daystate Renegade HP in 25 Cal is?

I would like to know if it is accurate, reliable, how many shots per fill it gives, the sensation on shooting with the electronic trigger, etc...

Well, I want to know if it worths it or not buying one taking into consideration that I already own a Vulcan 2 in 25 Cal.

Thanks a lot.

This rifle was on my wish list but when I watched alot of video reviews, I was not impressied with the 50 yard groups. They certainly were OK but I found it hard to justify the extra cash for it. I bet your Vulcan is a better shooting rifle. If one came up in the classifieds I might get more serious but with all the nice rifles out, it's hard to again justify the cost. My personal opinion, excluding the Huntsman (Regal), Daystate is way overpriced, and yet their performance is on par and sometimes less than other manufacturers. I'm certainly not saying they are bad but not worth the 20-30% increase in cost. If I was going to spend that much on a bullpup I would lean towards a Matador. I like that he has embraced the "kiss rule" and it is less likely for things to go wrong and easily fixed when they do.

I bought from AIrguns of Arizona two used air rifles, an Air Ranger in 25 Cal and a FX Bobcat in. 30 Cal... They're the ony two air rifles that I had to sent to the waste basket over few time..

The rifles that I have bought new are still working over many years with regular maintenance.

If I decide to apply for the Renegade HP or any other Daystate or FX in 25 Cal, I will certainly happily pay the overprice of the new rifles. At the end is cheaper and, on the worst case scenario, you have the guaranty.

The new Renegade prices have changed. A new .25 is $1,399.

I own a Renegade in .22. It's pretty accurate using the single shot tray, with the magazine not so good. I've had mutiple issues with it and for the money I found it disappointing, plus it's heavy. My Wildcat is much lighter, more accurate and it's been totally reliable. I've owned it for several years and had zero issues; I've never even had to clean the barrel.

Here is an honest review of the gun showing it with a veriety of ammo including slugs out to 75 yards.

Did you get a chance to test out the new Magazine System? If so, any thoughts? Thanks!

I have not tried the new magazine system, I just filmed this review for Terry. He knows more about the gun than I do. It is a very nice gun and was happy when I had chance to shoot it. The gun is heavy for s bullpup, that was the most obvious negative I could find.

Notice that his is single loading instead of using the magazine.

I was shooting both the Air Arms 25g pellets and the 33g JSB's. The 33's fit *very* tight in the magazine to the point where I need a pellet seating tool to get them loaded up.

I flaked and didn't pack that tool with me that day. I figured I'd just use the single shot tray while on the bench. The 25g pellets fit fine, though.

I plugged that cottontail @ 75 yards offhand, so the accuracy for hunting is adequate in my opinion.

Since this gun is putting out 60 ft lbs, the shot count isn't as high as other .25's on the market. Expect around 25 shots per fill.

I haven't modified or adjusted the gun at all. I'd like to think if it was turned down to around 50 ft lbs and the trigger was under 1 lb, the shot count would go up and groups would tighten on paper.

Right now I don't want to do all that. I've been contacted by one of my hunting permissions recently. Property owner has a wild pig issue that she wants me to resolve. I'm sure this Renegade is going to settle things down real quick when I get there. We hope to get that on video for you guys.
