Daystate Regal vs. Brocock Compatto

Mostly used to the slightly older brocock amx pistol ... ... .

You ( everyone ) wants the latest greatest and as Diana has only owned brocock for 3 or so years, it's the "latest" at least.

Traditional looks I QC go with the datstate. And the brocock should be fine , might even be lighter than the gauntlet .

Now IF you did not need the latest greatest, and could liuve with 20-30 shots w/in 20fps at 30fpe and wanted a high quality rifle "I" would buy used. There are a couple of AA 4xx/5xx rifles for sale used right now, one lists just gone though b y AZ the others are listed as perfect and as folks only wanted beta models these days they are CHEAP ( like 1/2 to 1/3 retail). Might be worth a thought.

I have had both. I would choose the Regal. Unless we are talking about the Huma regulated model Compatto and I don’t have much info on those. From what I hear, the HR Regal is not much of an improvement over the regular non regulated model. I would certainly take a Regal into the field to hunt with. Life is short, shoot what you want. You can always refinish the stock or buy another stock.

You could also consider orher guns. Taipans, Kalibrguns, FX Wildcats, etc.

Good luck

I got to considering this post while mowing grass - I do some deep thinking on the lawn tractor - and I believe you're absolutely correct. I bought my Regal to be used, not stared at like a museum piece. Come October, it'll be my choice for squirrel hunting. I mean seriously, I'll be walking/sitting in the woods with it, not low crawling through sniper school. When did I get so mansy pansy over a wood stock.

The regal was born to be a squirrel rifle: light, accurate and perfectly balanced. So thanks mate, I feel liberated.

I'll just let my previous post remain as evidence that once in a blue moon, a person's mind can actually be changed via the internet. cheers

Rock on brother! I was not in any way shape or form putting your comment down. Rather I was just putting my 0.02 in as I have lived long enough to attest to that.

Only reason to baby a gun is if you think you may sell it. But if you love it, use it! It may be in pristine shape only to get stolen or burned in a house fire.

Cheers!

No worries, I didn't take it as directed at me... just an opinion but a valuable one that got me examining my reasons for purchase. They say, "Never say never" so I won't say I'd never sell it but I think I'd have to be starving or somthing. Zero buyers remorse on the Regal, love that rifle. cheers
