Daystate Regal accuracy 60 yards tests

The one that I had bought and sold was practically new when I got it. It would shoot from a 220 bar fill down to 140 bar from 890 FPS to 910 FPS and back to 890 FPS. I seem to remember about 30 to 35 shots, JSB 18.1. The only things I didn't like about the gun were the cocking bolt, and the magazines. Since the orings are on the pellet probe, it made using the standard Daystate magazine clunky and glitchy, kinda like an Eddy R5M. So I just used the SST, and it was as accurate as any .22 that I have owned.

Update with my .22 Regal Classic; installed a Huma w/plenum and tuned the hammer-throw. Here’s what I got from a 220 bar fill:

Raised Huma from 142 to 148 and retuned hammer-throw. String from 220 bar fill:

Nice string. So yours is the Classic with the shorter air cylinder that ends around the front of the forend? If so, not bad considering the size of the air cylinder.

I’m not well versed with all the iteration of the Huntsman. I picked this one up used from the classifieds. It was sold to me as a left hand .22 Huntsman XL.

Your regal does in fact to be shooting a little slow. Mine is a 22 cal XL huma reg from factory.

jsb 15.89’s are shooting at 910 ft/s

nielson 17.5’s - 842 ft/s

nielson 20.2’s - 780 ft/s

217 and 218 cal showed no difference in velocity across the chrono. Couldn’t really tell a difference either in tightness (both diameters quite stiff to close). Slugs were also noticeably quieter than the pellets.

The 17.5’s and 20.2’s both showed promising accuracy, and again, couldn’t really tell a difference in accuracy between the different diameters.

Once it warms up some I plan on doing some more testing as I only had very few slugs to work with from the sample pack. I picked up some ballistol as well so I will see if adding some to the slugs helps with accuracy/bolt closing.

Douger, you have an alien man 😁 The one Steve reviewed came off the reg after 40 shots from a 250 bar fill. It also shot the 15.9s at 875 fps. You’re getting 10 more shots on a fill and shooting the 15.9s 15 fps faster! Better keep that dude 💪🏼

My oldie .22 Huntsman w/installed Huma has a tight string. Beats any SD that I’ve seen from a Regal so far.

That’s a great spread. Did you install the reg your self?

Thank you. Yes, I installed the Huma and then tuned via the hammer-throw. Began with 142 bar but pulled Huma and adjusted to 148 bar. The Hammer-throw needed to be adjusted for each of the two reg settings. It responded a lot like a hammer spring adjustment would. Though wit the hammer-throw, the more stroke the hammer has (adjusting the throw counter clockwise) the harder it will strike the valve-stem. So, adjustments are opposite to most hammer spring adjusters.
