Hello,
The goal of this thread is to gather some data from Daystate Redwolf Hi Power .22 cal owners, on a) Accuracy b) Shot Count and c) personalized Tuning settings. The assumption is that the pellet that is most likely the best match is the JSB exact Jumbo Monster .22 redesigned. So let's just stick to only that pellet for this thread. I would like to start by requesting you to post the following.
1) What type of groups are you getting at 100 yards and how consistent are they (5 shot or greater shot group stats preferred)?
2) What are your velocities at Hi power, Medium power and low power? Which one yields the best accuracy at 100 yards?
3) What is the shot count you are getting for the most accurate setting?
4) What is the average of standard deviation and spread when you get the best groups?
5) Do your groups get better with pellet sorting by head size and if so what type of improvements did you see?
6) How often do you clean the barrel?
7) At what point did your velocity peak and you couldn't get to go faster without compromising majorly on shot count, accuracy, spread and std deviation?
Based on my research so far, folks who are getting the best accuracy at 100 yards is with fps between 940 to 970 fps. I understand each rifle performing as a system will have its own unique characteristics, however, there will be an approximate baseline as the inherent components used in the rifle are the same. As more owners post their personal experience, that data will be useful for new Daystate owners who want to start programming and tuning their rifle. My Daystate redwolf HP .22 cal out of the box performed poorly with 4 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Just sent back the rifle to AoA who assured me they will fix this and it is still within the 30 day return period. I intend on keeping the rifle with the belief that it will get fixed. My intent is to get a programmer after the rifle is back to me, I will be attempting to squeeze the best accuracy out of it. Out of the box mine was shooting at slightly less than 900 fps with the JSB Jumbo monster .22 redesigned at Hi Power.
I truly appreciate your inputs. I will post my findings as well soon after my rifle is back either replaced, rebuilt or retuned. Sincerely hope I can stick to the redwolf and not go searching for another brand at this time. It is ambidextrous, beautiful and love the design. Hope to see it succeed. Happy Thanksgiving!
Regards,
Jai
