Daystate Red Wolf

I really like mine, probably my current favorite. I have a RAW HM1000, a Steyr Challenge Hunting, and recently sold a Crown, so it has good company. Mine came with a bad barrel that had to be replaced, but it's an absolute laser now. Mine came with tuning that works well for me, but that's never a sure thing. Shot count and velocity consistently are both great. I could not get the trigger to suit me in 2 stage mode, but it's very good now as a single stage. I can't say it's as good as my Steyr match trigger, but it's plenty good. Without the movement of a spring and hammer, lock time feels instant. And with a suppressor, it's about as close to silent as you will find. I was skeptical of the whole electronic thing, but I'm a believer now.

I have only seen one and the proud owner let me shoot his 177 RedWolf. It's an awesome rifle. It looks like a Ferrari and feels like one too (granted I have never driven a Ferrari but I have seen some). It just glows. It makes almost zero noise. If I were in the $2000+ market I would buy one. My only hesitation would be Daystate. They make beautiful, cutting edge rifles. The problem is they come out with new ones every year and good rifles go away and what if you have a problem and need a part down the road? So take the HW100 for example. HW has been making that rifle for many years. You will get parts. A RAW TM1000 has been made continuously for a number of years. Even though they aren't as big as Daystate you will be able to get parts. The RedWolf seems to be a big hit so they may stay in Daystates stable for a while and parts may not be an issue. I am not saying Daystate can't supply parts down the road. It's just something that has always made me nervous about them and yes I do own a Daystate and a satisfied owner. Hopefully my concern is unfounded. Worth thinking about though.

I never had any issues with accuracy and mags, but what I dont like about Daystate is their mags. Shot count for this day and age is very low, also the .25 cal mags have no oring so the first pellet always falls out if you dont carry the mags in a holder or tipped back. If the Safari uses the same mag as the Renegade and the RW I would hope Daystate fixes this issue. As for the gun itself if you dont mind the length you will be hard pressed to beat that PCP. I have the Impact X, FX Compact, RW HP .22 and 2 Renegades, Leshiy and a couple M Rods. I only shoot the RW and the Impact X now.

Watching this thread with interest. Has the problem that some people have had with accuracy when using the magazine been fixed.

It would also be good if you could get it with the 580cc cylinder.

Yeah I was going to poke my head in and say that, I don't own a Daystate, but people deserve to know about this before investing:

It is a bit of a slog to read through, but I must confess I was more than a little dismayed by the response from Daystate and AoA. Obviously the feedback of the owners on how things all played out is probably more valuable than my opinion as a casual observer, but on a 3,000$ gun (including programmer) I'd kinda want the magazines to work. And I know I'm not the only one who noticed the Daystate factory team single loaded at EBR while almost everyone else ran their respective brand's magazines.
