Daystate Red Wolf Programming Instructions Document version 1.1

All,

The cheat sheet took on a life of its own resulting in a major revision to the original document.

The document has been reformatted. It has gone from two pages to four. The instructions have been broken into distinct Sections. Background information regarding the Daystate "PowerSet Programmer" has been given a Section of its own. A screen shot of the keyboard with labels of important keys has been added as has a more comprehensive description of the function of the keys. A link to a second programming video has been added. I even added a couple of thoughtful quotations to set the mood for reprogramming.

Important Note: I retained the idea of a "cheat sheet" for those that need just a quick reminder regarding programming. Such people can jump to the last page and read a limited number of straightforward steps describing re-programming for pellet velocity. Note that I am only now getting to the point where I might successfully use just those reminders to reprogram my gun. Stated another way, everyone should BE CAREFUL if they skip the first three pages of the document and just jump to the end when they reprogram their guns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The document attached to this post is still a draft that needs watchful eyes to review and comment before I move on to the final draft. A final draft that may (or may not) include screen shots to better illustrate programmer device menus that need to be accessed to reprogram the Red Wolf. Screen shots will double the number of pages so I am not sure if sample screens would help or hurt readability and content comprehension. Also, I need to be mindful of potential copyright issues that might make Daystate an unhappy camper if they see their PowerSet Programmer screens all over the Interweb.

Oh heck. Why worry. I'm sure Daystate has no interest in what we are doing.

In any event, the version 1.1 document is contained at the end of the post. Please review and comment so we end up with a sound document to lead us through Red Wolf programming.

Best wishes

The other Mark B.

Hi,

I am thinking of getting a Daystate Pulsar HP and did some research. I came across a website that talked about having programmed either a Pulsar or Red Wolf, to have 11 different power settings??? Did I read that correct? However, I cannot find the damn site anymore (Browser history gets deleted when I close my browser).

I am sure it would to much to ask for, if anyone might know the site I am talking about, but what maybe someone can tell me if that is indeed what I saw!? 11 different power settings? Is that really possible?

thanks,

Kmd

Can you explain why when you adjust the pulse for one power setting then you have to adjust the pulse for the other two power settings also? I'm trying to understand the programming process from a more deeper "program" standpoint. I can't see a technical reason you would need the same pulse width change to be made on all three power settings.

Do you know what type of programming is used in the rifle/programmer?

Thank you
