Daystate Red Wolf HP and slugs

HI all 



Is anyone shooting slugs through their Daystate Red Wolf HP , and if so what kind and at what speed ? I know there are loads of FX guys shooting them to great effect but have not read much about Daystate ?? 



Is anyone using them ??

I’m shooting the 26g nsa .218 slugs They shoot well

5 shots at 50m. Don’t have a picture of a group at 100y About 1.5 inches at that distance I’m waiting for a programmer to bump the speed up a bit close to 950fps . I’m hoping at that speed it might tighten up the group a little more. Shot many starlings and got 3 rabbits at around 75m and was very impressed with the knock down power

Can’t wait to see what the Safari can do with the slugs!

Yes HP. It shoots the Redesigned Monsters at 920fps. I also tried some nsa 23g .217 slugs which didn’t group so well. I don’t think they were sealing well because I’d get the odd slow one over the chronograph. .218 works better.

Right so . I am shooting the 25's RD's at 940 and they group so so well . They are good at 100 yards too . Oddly enough mine liked the 34's ... for a while then hated them and now its back to liking them again . They only run 812 though and are far more affected by wind than the 25's. I have some Varmint knockers I am going to try , I reckon I might give the slugs a test this weekend . I reckon they might be just the thing . Could be good .

Are they the 24g VK? Your getting a bit more power from your gun than me. Should shoot the the 24g close to the same speed as the monsters which is ideal Look forward to seeing your results.

Thanks buddy , they are the 26 grain one's . I cant wait to use them and see what they can do . I am sure they will be fantastic out at range . I will chrono the gun and see what I am getting . Should be as you say. We shall see

I have a .22hp, but it doesn’t really care for the VK slugs either 22.5’s or 24’s .217dia., loves the 18.1’s on low and med. power!, & the 25.4’s on hp. Actually if I do my part ( read the wind! ) they out shoot the 25’s!??

I am hopping that because I have the ART barrel it will work really well with the slugs , well that’s the plan anyway. Saturday will be the day . Outdoor range and then we can see what’s what . The 26’s should be ok and accurate out to decent distance .

Had a beautiful calm day today so I took advantage and went for a stroll with the RedWolf shooting the 26g .218 nsa slugs. I took 6 shots and hit every bird I took aim at. 94m 94m 45m 45m 45m .......138m

Im wrapped with the way these slugs are shooting Couldn’t believe I dropped the myna bird at 138m

Sadly not , Went to the range but they had some problems and we could not get range time . I was gutted . I am desperate to get using them buddy . We had everything ready but were told we could not shoot ... Just my luck !

I will have to try some of the nsa slugs .217 looks like they shot extremly well out of your Redwolf!, mine didn’t care for the VK’s .217 24’s were just ok @ 50?
