Daystate Red Wolf .177 HP - GMI Flat based slugs

So I ordered a .177 die set from GMI a while back and have been testing these last weeks. 


The slugs are hollow point with a flat base and I make them from 13.4 gr upto 21 gr. 


Got the best results with the 16.2 gr so far. 

It seems like the harder I push them, the better they perform !

Testing ground is outside in a field. 

Squares are 15 x 15 mm and the 3 shots are 16 mm apart (0.63 inches). This is shot at 100 meters or about 110 yards. Not bad at all for a .177. 


Velocity is 960 FPS and 33.2 FPE with STD of 3.1 FPS !

Very nice! GMI is very forward thinking in the slug, pellets and die/sizer game.

Great shooting. I'm a little surprised the 177 Slug game hasn't caught on more. All the advantages of slugs, but better air efficiency then the larger calibers.

I am taking the Pro Hunter slugs and the H&N slugs out to silly distance now , I will report back to you on my findings buddy . So am I. I think folks would be quite surprised at the terminal performance of .177 hollow point slugs if they gave them a shot. 30+ fpe in .177 with a BC of greater than .07 makes for some fun pesting for sure.
