Daystate Pulsar .22 - {5 Shot Groups - 50 & 100 Yards}

Some pictures of 5 shot groups at 50 & 100 yards. These were shot with the Daystate Pulsar .22 Walnut.

Shot on low power with 18gr JSBs giving me about 26 ft/lbs at around 816 fps. I will be doing more testing on the different power settings and testing different pellets. Also shooting over the chrony.

Wow..that little pup can shoot! Very impressive from the gun and the shooter! Half inch at 50 yards, and if not for that one flyer then half inch at 100 yards! What were the shooting conditions (wind, bench rest, etc)? Were the group sizes easily repeatable?

Too bad about that flyer. For me, it's always the 5th shot that goes astray. You know, if groups were four shot groups, we'd all be fantastic shots!! Nice shooting and congratulations on getting a gun that can perform in such a way.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I am so happy about my new Daystate Pulsar .22! I cannot wait to do some more testing and hunting.

The shots were taken on a bench and bags in great conditions (no wind, all sun) on Christmas eve. I did do a few other 100 yard groups that were just over an inch but I feel they could have been better because I have not yet cleaned the barrel, purchased a great scope, practiced enough with the Pulsar and the trigger needs some adjustment to be really great. I know I can do better, I am just getting started with my new Pulsar... more to come.

I know all guns are different but, with mine, I found that the occasional flyers could be reduced by using the single shot tray instead of the magazine

I second that. On the bench I like to single load each pellet if I am trying to shoot the tightest groups at that kind of yardage. But the Pulsar laid down some impressive shots. I'm impressed with your outcome at this early stage in shooting the rifle. Keep up the nice work and keep us informed of your progress.

If you want to try and get rid of the fliers sort by weight then use the roll test to weed out pellets that may not shoot the same.

Nice shooting! I'm awaiting the delivery of the same Pulsar (Walnut .22). What pellets have you found work best at each power level?

I have found the 18gr JSBs work the best so far. But I will be doing more testing later and I still need to clean the barrel.

I was shooting the pulsar 22 at a local competition yesterday, it was a windy day.
no matter what I adjust power or different pellets with different weight , the pulsar did not do well at all.
there was so many flyers that i have decided not too shoot it at the competition at all.
So finally i opted for the royale 400 which did amazingly well in the wind; I ended up wining first place.
I am disappointed with the pulsar , i think it only shoots well in perfect conditions.

I'm struggling a bit. Are you saying the same pellets fired from the Pulsar are also being used in the Royal but the Royal shoots better in the wind than the Pulsar?

I haven't had a chance to run the pulsar over the chrony yet so I cannot give you a solid number yet but it is into the 100+ on low power. Once I get numbers for high, medium and low I will put up another post with all the info. I plan to make a video about all of this for YouTube. =)

I do not have a Royal this was an issue (najiam) was having... I have been shooting in the wind a little and have not had any issues with accuracy. Just in need of a better scope, an atlas bipod, more testing and practice to really hone my shooting skill with the Daystate Pulsar.
