Daystate MK3 barrel replacement

Daystate MK3 barrel replacement. The old 38cm barrel was replaced by a new one for slugs, 60cm.

Maybe it did not work out perfectly, as I would like, I lack a 10mm cutter and I had to change the height of the post, but it fits perfectly.
The energy jumped to 61J on JSB KO 1.64g. I did not want to pull the valve out, but it would be useful to increase the flow from 4mm to 5mm.

Nice work ....

having re-barreled several Daystates, and owning a MK3 in .20 cal myself ( Also a re-barrel ) would be surprised if the gun can muster enough power to shoot slugs at the higher speeds they generally require.

Now said ... In the day, there were 3 versions of the mk-3 ( Non reg sporter, regulated and a delux mismash IIRC ) The electronics boards also changed from the early ones having 10 power levels to i believe a 2 step power board that continued in Mk-4 and Airwolf models.

Hope this turns out and shoots as you hope !! .... Nice rifles for sure.

As to air flow & valve ..... There is very little room between transfer port and the facing end where poppet seals. Increasing the transfer hole diameter must be done very carefully making sure the margin between hole and seat does not become too thin & weak. Better idea IMO would be to lathe turn the poppet stem down in diameter from just behind the head to the back of throat gaining breathing area in the throat & minimal transfer size changes doing so side/side & not taking material away towards the seat.

JMO ....

I have a new brass valve, the air canal is 4mm, but there is still a lot of "meat" to enlarge, that's what it was made for. Valve steam is like in mk4 and newer. The electronics have been modified by my colleague, and there is also an energy regulation board installed.
