Daystate Magazine Fit

I recently purchased a Daystate magazine for use in my .177 Airwolf MVT. The magazine will not sit flush in the receiver. It pops back out about 1 mm or so and will not advance. It will sit correctly and cycle if pressure is applied to keep it in place.

It looks like the magnet might be pulling it back towards the barrel and causing the misalignment. Is there a way to remove the magnet and put it in the other hole? This might pull it the other way so it rests against the pin and provides the right alignment.

I can't find the original magazine that came with the gun to see what might be different. It was likely put in a "safe" place that I now can't remember. Anything else that might explain why the magazine won't stay in place?
