Daystate (Coltri) Compressor Blew the Safety Valve

I recently setup my Daystate 4500 PSI (110v) compressor to start filling my CF tank. After the setup and 5 minute break in, I went ahead and got ready to top off my tank. The tank was at about 200 bar. Following all the directions and the videos before trying, I went ahead and started to open the valve on the air tank after closing the moisture/relief valve and starting the compressor. I opened the valve on the tank slowly. After about 5 seconds I hear a loud bang and the compressor relief valve blew out. Of course I don't have a spare as the unit is brand new! I can't figure out what caused the blow out as the tank was at 200 bar - nothing for the compressor to reach. Must I let the compressor build up pressure to what's left in the tank before opening the tank valve so there is no "rush" of pressure that may have blown the safety valve? Directions and videos sure did not imply this. Please let me know if any of you have had this happen to them. Just so you know bad luck is following me, I had to send my Hill EC-3000 back to air venturi for a faulty motherboard or fill pressure sensor, so I'm out both compressors at the same time!

I let my compressor build pressure equal to whats in my SCBA then I open the tank valve. I also only fill my SCBAs to 4000 psi so not to stress my compressor.

Is it a burst disc ? My safety valve on my coltri mch 6 resets . Yours doesn't?

I talked with Sean @ AoA today and apparently there are 2 safety valves on the MCH3. Both appear to be spring loaded so that they both can be reused once they "blow" The higher pressure one - the red one mounted to the separator - is up to 360 bar and the other - mounted on the back stage near the electric motor will blow at 125 bar. I'm not sure which went, but what I found was the compressor was leaking air and would not build up any pressure. Sean went through the spots to look and I found that the top of the separator was loose and air was coming out of it. Once tightened, I put on my CF tank and topped it off - not much because it was at 275. I did let the compressor build up the pressure to almost the 275 - I was close - and it worked correctly. The manual should be updated to reflect the fact that you need to let the compressor build up to the pressure in the vessel you are filling before opening the target tank or gun's air valve. Thanks to everyone for the help!
